I did vice versa with my old truck. Bought it with 285's on it and drove it for a month or so. Mileage wasn't terrible, but was noticeable. Had 3:73 gears so it did ok.

Once I bought the 265's, I noticed a small increase in mileage and ride comfort.

How small of an increase in mileage? Do you have any other 265/75R16 pics?

Thanks!

I would like to know mileage too. I have 305/70/R16s Toyo Open Country Mud Terr with 3:42 gears and I only get 12 to 13 mpg. I drive 70 miles per day and it adds up. For financial responsiblity reasons, I'm considering getting a more street like tread and a 285/75R16 or 265. I would still like a good look though but its a compromise. As of note, running 35psi, when I got he truck I got 11.5mpg, upped the pressure to 45 and got to 12.5mpg, upped to 55 and got 13.5, so I know tire stuff and rolling resistance matters. My tires say 65psi max but I think they wear uneven at that pressure, maybe even the 55psi currently running,

I'm running the 265 Michelin's on my '97 LT 4X4 and they are fantastic. Took the original tires off at 30K and have run the Michelins ever since.

I am trying to do the opposite. My truck came with over size Baer rotors and a different caliper. It has 18 inch rims with 285/65-18 tires and 3.73 gear, with the big tires drops it to about a 3.43. Want to get back to the original rims and tire size, but need caliper brackets. They were removed to put on the larger brakes. May have found a solution here from a member.
