Oops added a bit more than that, closer to 5 liters, dumped my old oil and it didn't even come close to filling the jug the new oil came out of

Well the "jugs" of oil are usually 5.1 quarts, so don't worry about it; a little extra oil won't hurt anything. Now if you added an extra quart, that'd be another story lol

I used Mobil 1 high mileage comes in 4.4L jugs, I added about 600ml from a 1L, I'm sure it's fine,

what happens if you over fill?
