Hey guys,

I have been looking for a full set of LEDs for my truck. Been looking on Ebay with little to no luck. I am looking for a full set: LED Headlights, LED Parking Lights, and LED Marker Lights but can't find a set that is fully LED. I only see them individually sold and not in a set. I can buy the regular bulb versions in a set, but not any LED sets. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great! :D It don't matter if they're composites or the quads, but I would prefer the quads.

Thanks! :)

Drop in LEDs for the composite housings is not going to be a good solution. There have been a bunch of threads about that here. Throws light in a much different way than halogen bulbs and will irritate traffic, similar to an HID setup without a projector retrofit.

And unfortunately I don't think anyone makes a TruckLite style LED housing for the quad beams on these trucks.

Best to stick to halogens for headlights if you're not planning on a W/T grille swap IMO.

df2x4 is totally right. they usually always have issues with flickering/flashing as well. the cheap LEDs make that worse. i put LED headlights (lowbeam) and they piss people off. everything has to be bought seprate.

So this wouldn't work?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SMOKED-HOUSING-HEADLIGHT-HEADLAMP-6000K-WHITE-LED-SYSTEM-FIT-88-98-CHEVY-C10-C-K-/162539445963?fits=Make:Chevrolet&epid=16002694046&hash=item25d81b1ecb:g:XZ4AAOSw8GtZUqIi&vxp=mtr

This what I am talking about. ;) I am definitely not going to put LEDs in my stock headlights, I have researched about that a lot and people have said no. I don't know, I thought they made LED headlights for these trucks, if those ones above are just halogen housings with LED lights in them, then I will stick with halogens, no big deal.

I might even just go HID, don't know, I guess it's something to think about. After thinking last night, I really just want headlights, not a full set, want something better for at night since I work until 8:00pm at night, would like something better than the halogens. I have some SilverStar Ultras right now, but would like something brighter.

Yeah, those are just halogen housings with drop in LEDs. Crappy tinted ones with cheap looking LEDs at that. Definitely don't waste your money on those. We've been over all this in @shovelbill's thread, there's a ton of good information in there.

To make a long story short, a lot of people think the factory halogens aren't "good enough" because they've never seen them operating properly. The recipe for great output from the composite housings in these trucks is as follows:

1.) New set of housings, either OEM GM (expensive) or one of these two aftermarket options. No tint on the lenses.

Anzo 111004

Spyder HD-YD-CCK88-C
https://www.amazon.com/Spyder-Auto-Chrome-Crystal-Headlight/dp/B004WMF8SG

The Anzos are plastic and more immune to rock chips and abuse, the Spyders are glass and therefore more fragile but more resistant to yellowing over time.

2.) A good set of factory halogen bulbs with NO tint or color of any kind. Another reason you're probably not impressed with your current setup is the SilverStar Ultras. Those things are not bright at all, and it has a lot to do with the blue tint painted onto the bulb. It blocks output. I recommend either GE NightHawks (The standard ones with no blue tint) or these Sylvania XtraVisions.

Sylvania XtraVision 9006 (Low Beams)
https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-XtraVision-Halogen-Headlight-Contains/dp/B0031HEIDY

Sylvania XtraVision 9005 (High Beams)
https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-XtraVision-Halogen-Headlight-Contains/dp/B0031HI0HY

3.) A heavy duty headlight harness with 4-Hi mod. The HD harness will pull power straight from the battery and through relays to power your headlights, instead of the factory setup which runs all headlight power through the headlight switch. This will increase your voltage at the bulbs considerably and gain you a ton of output. The 4-Hi relay will keep all four lights on when you hit your high beams instead of shutting off the low beams.

Follow this recipe and the end result is plenty bright.

Yeah I thought those headlights looked sketchy.

@df2x4 Thanks for the great help man! I will return my SilverStars and get those XtraVision bulbs instead. That'll be a good start, then I will probably get the Spyder glass composites later on, instead of doing the composite to quad conversion. I definitely want to do the 4-HI setup badly, can't wait to do it. :D

Thanks for the max light recipe, I will be sure to report back in a few months. Again everyone, the help was much appreciated!! :D

You're welcome!

I strongly recommend anyone curious about lighting in general on these trucks to read through @shovelbill's thread I linked earlier. It's long and there's a lot of rambling, but we all learned a bunch of neat stuff.
