You're right, that would be hilarious! I gotta see thisI was originally thinking of just taking some sheet metal to cover the door gap, but I am now thinking it would be more hilarious to just cut down the doors to fit and make it so they still swing open, and maybe even see if I can still use the little vent windows that are supposed to go against the windshield.
Other than the obvious reasons why didn't you split it somewhere else to try to keep the full doors?I was originally thinking of just taking some sheet metal to cover the door gap, but I am now thinking it would be more hilarious to just cut down the doors to fit and make it so they still swing open, and maybe even see if I can still use the little vent windows that are supposed to go against the windshield.
This was by far the easiest place to take a chunk out to make it fit the frame, which i'm assuming is the obvious reason? It didn't take me long to to at all, and this way I didn't have to mess with welding anthing else other than some small spots on the rockers and floor to put it back together.Other than the obvious reasons why didn't you split it somewhere else to try to keep the full doors?

That must be a **** to do a fuel pump on lolThis thing is kicking my ass, but I finally got it apart. Engine is out and the front subframe is "back in" enough to roll around. I ended up having to loosen the whole rear subframe just to get the gas tank out.

Maybe with a lift it wouldn't have been so bad, I'm assuming that the whole subframe is supposed to be dropped first to get at the tank straps. Even with the subframe loose it was still caught up on the front of the diff and I still had to wrestle it a little to get it out. That must be a **** to do a fuel pump on lol
