Quick question, My compass has N & E only - any ideas? East and South come up as E. West and North come up as N.

Just like Mean Green said it probably needs a calibration. I believe that there is a way to set up the compass "zone" that you are in as a way to compensate for the difference between magnetic north and true north in different areas of the country. Idaho is Zone 4 & 5 so that's probably what your mirror is set to. You might have to look up the zone chart. I'll see if I can find it.

I may be installing my mirror today

Sweet Let us know how it goes!

Not exactly the same issue I had but....
I thought I'd hold down the compass button to toggle through some options. It only toggled through 1, 2, 3, etc. through 15?
I couldn't get it back to compass until I disconnected/reconnected the power. Maybe try that...

I held the button and a "C" came on the display. After making a lap in the grocery store parking lot, all is good! I thought you were pulling my leg with the driving in a circle talk!!!!!!
Thanks again guys

I don't know which of these gentex mirrors we have but I found this. I just copied all of the instructions so one of the sets of instructions should work. I hope that the map is the right one. It seems similar to the one that I've seen before.

8 – Compass Calibration
Note that the K2 & K3 NVS Mirror needs no further calibration.
1) K5 and K21 Mirrors:
a) Zone Variation: This compass must be set to compensate for the
variation between true north and magnetic north. To set variation:
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Using the map, (Fig. 19), to find your geographic location, note
the zone that you are in.
3) To select zone, push in the Comp. switch for 3 seconds until the
zone selection comes up. Release, then toggle until correct zone
is found and release switch. After 5 seconds of no activity,
display will return to normal temperature reading.
b) Compass Calibration: This compass automatically calibrates itself
while the vehicle is
driven as your route takes you in complete circles. Therefore no
calibration should be required, though it may take up to an hour. A
quicker method is listed below. If the vehicle’s compass headings
become inaccurate, the compass can be manually calibrated by:
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Zone variation needs to be changed for use in different areas of
the country.
3) For a different Zone selection, see a3 above.
4) To re-calibrate, hold the Comp switch for 6 seconds until CAL is
displayed. Drive
your vehicle in at least 3 circles, allowing 45 seconds to
complete one circle.
2) K31 Mirrors:
a) Zone Variation: This compass must be set to compensate for the
variation between true north and magnetic north. To set:
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Using the map, (Fig. 19), find your geographic location, note the
zone that you are in.
3) To select zone, push the Center button for 3 seconds and release
when “Z” is
illuminated on display. Toggle the Center button until correct
zone is displayed. After 5 seconds of no activity, the zone will
be stored in memory.
b) Compass Calibration: This compass automatically calibrates itself
while the vehicle is
driven as your route takes you in complete circles. Therefore no
calibration should be required, though it may take up to an hour. A
quicker method is listed below. If the vehicle’s compass headings
become inaccurate, the compass can be manually calibrated by:

complete one circle.
3) K45 & K51 Mirrors:
a) Zone Variation: This compass must be set to compensate for the
variation between true north and magnetic north. To set:
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Using the map, (Fig. 19), find your geographic location, note the

4) K62 Mirrors:
a) Zone Variation: This compass must be set to compensate for the
variation between true north and magnetic north. To set:
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Using the map, (Fig. 19), find your geographic location, note the
zone that you are in.
3) To select zone, push (mirror icon) button for 3 seconds
and release when

It was ~35 F on the way home the other morning and misting. My display flashed a few times from 35 to ICE.
I guess it was warning me that the roads could be iceing up.....cool!

Yep these mirrors will do that when the temp drops below 38 F or if the temp is already below 38 when the truck is turned on it will flash ICE a few times.

It's nice to grab your attention if you were driving along and didn't notice the temperature dropping. I know that when it flashes ice like that it tends to catch my eye.
