My 89 K20 with 3500 landing gear under it. Dual wheels on full floating axle last time I hauled with it came off the scales at 16,500. Had a load of mulch on the truck and what was supposed to be 2 yards of stone on the trailer. I think the loader did me a favor with extra stone. Was happy to have a granny gear that day.

Hauled a 30 foot gooseneck from Phoenix to Indy with my 92 single cab 1/2 ton stepside. 4" lift, 35" mud tires and a transplanted TBI 454. Tipped the scales at 15,500 lbs according to the Joplin truck stop.

Stock suspension? Stock brakes? What did you have on it? Sounds unsafe.

Stock suspension and stock brakes. Trailer brakes on both axles. I'm sure it was unsafe but the truck hauled it fine. I moved my stuff with it. It did have new tires both on the truck and trailer though.
