LSA_Swapped_C1500

Okay so I have a LSA swapped 1995 1500 single cab. I’m looking to swap the steering wheel for a ZL1 steering wheel to take advantage of the paddle shifters. I’ve read a post on here about a guy with a 1997 or 98 extended cab changing his upper column shaft to make a ‘06 Corvette wheel work. If that’s true could I swap the shafts in my truck to one in which the spline accepts the new ZL1 wheel?
