Yes you should. Unless you like slow trucks, crappy mileage, and toasted tranny's.

4.56 gears, bearings, shims, seals, oil, possibly axles depending on wear, beer, lots of cuss words, more beer, then somebody that knows what the f### they're doing to show you what you need to do.

Best bet would be to find a rack and axle shop, the smaller the better. Chat them up and say you already have all your parts but realized its a bigger job than you can do and ask them a price. Not really something you want to dive into if you have no idea what youre doing.

Go 4.88 gears. 38s are some big meats to turn.

Don't fear the gear, 4.88's with 37's is just right.
