exhaust interchange questions

in 1994 they went to the 2 3/4 single exhaust on the 5.7 trucks. will this tailpipe (assuming long bed extended cab) bolt up to my 89 with little to no mods?

what im trying to do is keep the truck VERY quiet, but free up the exhaust flow enough to pick up some power and fuel economy. im also thinking about a high flow spun style cat in the future, but need to get it to pass this years inspection first, which i cant do with a rotted out muffler and tailpipe.

so, what do you guys think?

To my knowledge the only differance, besides size, in the tail pipes between 88 - 94 is the hangers. If you swapped hangers, the tailpipe should be routed the same.
