Is STILL Here?
I have a 1991 Gmc c2500 with a 5.0L 305. It is a 5 speed manual I am looking to put a cam in it leaning twards a cam that gives me some more torque. Comp sounds good but I dont know much about the engine is it hydrolic or mechanical? What all do i need to change? What should i change. I want to do it right and get the most out of it I can. I also kinda like it to sound nice when its idling.
When I was a young teenager, I cammed a TBI 305 5-speed. I didn't have money, no tune, and it still went successfully with night and day difference in power. Granted it wasn't fast by today's standards, but the bone stock TBI 305 wouldn't go up a slight incline in 5th gear and I didn't dare use the A/C.
The cam had to be smooth for computer compatibility, but I did it for about $400 in birthday/Christmas money by myself in the driveway. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.
