the alignment shop says my front coil springs are shot. Does this happen often? I'm running a heavier cummins and have around 230k miles on my c2500. Does anyone have a coil spring brand recommendation?

Coil springs do get worn out, because of being overloaded with crappy shocks in most cases. I had a suburban 2500 with the heavy ass Big block, had leveling springs from fabtech (not sure of the part number) that rode very well and lifted the front about 2 inches. I think they would prob be equivalent of a factory hight for your truck with the cummins. Either that or factory replacement diesel springs.
