So, long story short, the local tire shop guys I usually go to over-torqued the hell out of my lug nuts to the point of warping the rotors slightly. Too many ugga-duggas on the impact. Took it to my actual mechanic and he turned the rotors, vibration in the pedal is 99% gone but it's not perfect. Sometime next month I'm going to have him throw on some new rotors and pads to get things back like they should be. Lesson learned, never letting that tire shop touch my vehicles again.

What do you all recommend for pads and rotors? I've been considering going with something fancy and slotted (not drilled) but my mechanic is of the opinion that the only thing I'll notice is increased pad wear. He's a very knowledgeable guy and I'm inclined to believe him. Plus they can't be turned and resurfaced like a standard flat faced rotor. I'm leaning towards a standard rotor with ceramic pads, these specifically.

Bendix D369CT Ceramic Pads:

Am I going to be alright with these parts? Any other recommendations or thoughts? Thanks in advance guys.

Truck is a '97 C1500 by the way, 4.3L 4L60E, RCLB.

I agree about the oem style rotors of a good brand and like you said, ceramic pads. I recently switched over to ceramic on my truck and the ole lady's Tahoe. Work great

Stock solid rotors and high quality pads (like from EBC, Stoptech, Hawk, Wilwood) are the way to go.

I have some carquest ceramics and they are good enough I can't justify upgrading. What you picked out looks good, however,

These might work better and are cheaper: https://m.summitracing.com/parts/ebc-ud369

And for a bit more, personally I'd try these: https://m.summitracing.com/parts/hwk-hb296f-670/none/images

Edit: Also, do NOT skip properly bedding in your new new pads/rotors! It drastically affects your brake performance no matter what pads/rotors you have.

How does wagner stack up to raybestos? I see rockauto stacks em in the same type of "OE+" slot on the site.

Appreciate the recommendations, but both of those sets of pads are semi-metallic and I'm really looking for ceramic to avoid dusting as much as possible. In regards to the bedding procedure, my mechanic will be taking care of that. Appreciate the info though.

@Bob L @95Escahoe Thanks for pointing out Wagner, they look like they have some nice offerings. I see that they have ceramic pads in both their ThermoQuiet and QuickStop lines... I'm assuming that the ThermoQuiets are their performance line? Would either of you recommend one of their product lines over the other?

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it.

I use the ThermoQuiet pads in ceramic (which I think is all they come in?) all the way around with there rotors
