98 Silverado

My 98 Silverado sometimes shifts really hard on 1-2, however if I clear the codes it stops. This is even when a code isn't present . It would eventually show p1870 code. TPS maybe? TCC?

If you have a good scanner, here are the diagnostics for that code on a 98. It looks like it is pointing to an internal issue.
