Just reading through your build and I also broke my heater hose connector off at the intake. Took it to a machine shop to drill out. They kind of marred the threads so i bought a new lower intake at O'reillys. Then, I go in a few weeks later for something and I'm just browsing the aisles and come across a tool that was made specifically to get those broken pieces out.
Its kind of a socket bit with teeth on the outside that bite into the broken piece (I think you're supposed to beat it in there a little bit) and then you just unthread it out.
I thought how crappy that GM made a part that was so prone for failure that they made a part specifically designed to remove it. Part was like $10.
Just thought I'd share.
