I completed the exhaust a couple weeks ago and it sounds so much better than the abortion that was put on there by the exhaust shop. It actually sounds more like a v8 now - yay. I needed to drop it off to the transmission/diff shop where my 4.56:1 gearsets and eaton posi were waiting to be installed. Been waiting for the last couple months for them to arrive by boat. Two days later had my truck back and wow, what a difference the right gear makes. It doesn't feel like a 3ton pig anymore. Pulled the exhaust on Friday for the last time, scuffed all the welds with a wire brush, wiped it down with acetone and sprayed it with a couple of rattle cans. Usually I wouldn't touch the cans but I thought, **** it, it'll do 'til next year.

Bit of an update - Tow mirrors on finally on. Seems the kids like the "monster truck" when out and about and the occasional senior citizen.

Photo taken in July when out shopping. Couldn't help myself parking next to a stock height 'burb. Haven't seen the vehicle since. I have only seen one other on my travels - not very common here at all.

Went on a winter break skiing for a few days - first trip in the truck to Mt. Ruapehu.

Replaced the spring packs over the weekend. Truck rides a little nicer and no more unladen swat issues. Also dropped the box off at my panelbeater's shop.

The guards (fenders) were blended to match the new paint, flares were re-fixed, grille inserts painted black. Much betterer but still a work in progress

Getting the hood scoop and badge vinyled. We used a satin black to match the painted grills.

Went land speed racing last weekend. Never done anything like that before, what a great weekend. Track days do not compare to this rush of speed. Truck was a pleasure to drive, certainly a head turner that's for sure.

The corvette that was parked next to me sure is purrtee, and certainly sounds beautiful. Went through the speed trap @ 281kph (174.8mph) Credit to the owner, Greg for such a beautiful car.
