Here's my current project that I'm working on. It's a 96 2 door Tahoe. It has a 08 Express Van 6.0 and 4L80e GEN 4, drive by wire, stand alone engine harness TSP 231/239 LS3 cam

huge learning experience.

Is it possible to get the dash gauges working with out the original engine harness?

Yes it is very possible. I got my 92 ext cab working on all the gauges. For oil i used a oil pressure sensor from a 81 c10. One wire hook up. For temp use the temp sensor from a 99-01 chevy camero ss. 3 wire hook up two for the pcm one for your gauge. You will have to get a resistor for the tach ill see if I can find which one. Speedo is straight hook up the speedometer.
