I put 50% ethanol in my truck but had to increase the timing by 6 degrees to run right. It also used more of the ethanol then the regular gas.Maybe he put diesel in your gas tank by accident or flex fuel.

That's correct. I also noticed it on the 2007 with the flex fuel 5.3LThat's what I read as well the fuel is less money but one gets less mpg
There are two. one operates the gage while the other activates something else. cant remember which one.Top of the manifold next to the water outlet.

That sounds right. Hell I replaced both on mine and my gauge still doesn't get up to 140*. I changed the thermostat to 190* and still no change. not sure what is going on with that.The CTS in the intake manifold goes to the ECM. This is the one that could be causing the issue. If the temp is not reading right, the computer is providing the wrong fuel mixture.
The CTS in the head on the driver's side goes to the gauge.
