Make sure that you have the hight output oil pump, if your vehicle is a 4 x 4 make sure that the oil pan is in good shape,no rust spots. Also install a fluidamper and make sure that the oil seals at the crankshaft plus it's time to install a fitting at the oil pressure sensor so it can be access with a deep socket in the event you have to replace it when the engine is in the vehicle , oil cooler lines fitting at the block upgrade the crossover exhaust pipe !

You can remove the soot trap. You can change to the Flowmaster downpipe and crossover. Otherwise with 4 inch exhaust the only other option would be to change the turbo. All of the turbos on the 6.5 are junk anyway.

I actually found out the motor in my truck is a aftermarket unit do you think it would have a better pump than stock? Already ordered new oil feed lines for the 15000 gvw trucks my truck is a 2wd crew cab 8ft bed

Any turbo suggestions that would fit the factory header don't be wanna spend money on a turbo then have to dump extra money for custom headers

The 15,000 GVWR lines will not fit correctly, because unless you have leaf sprung solid axles and disc brakes and 19.5 rubber on 10 lug rims at all corners, you dont have the 15,000 GVWR. either I or the fellow member with the crew cab project HD can put them to use if the vendor does not offer returns.

I would highly suggest the braided stainless lines from Leroydiesel.com or lubricationspecialist.com If you want OEM lines, you better go to GM and order based on VIN number, and get new block connector fittings.

For turbos, Leroydiesel.com sells the A-Team Turbo, which is a all inclusive kit to make it a bolt on deal. PTwiringsolutions.com sells a kit to convert Holsets, such as HX35 and HX40, for use on the 6.5L.

Do not do marine injectors, especially if they are not genuine Bosch. Get stock output genuine bosch, either rebuilt by a quality shop, or new units from a reputable vendor. You gain fuel by changes to the pump, not the injectors on a 6.5L. for return lines, Leroy is selling OEM style, which seem to be the best. the aftermarket ones dont seem to seal for very long.

While its out and on the stand, I would put in timing gears (from Leroy)or a new timing chain and sprockets (rockauto) and re-seal the front cover and the oil pan.
Put in a new rear main seal, and the front (doing it anyhow due to removal of the front cover) and either a fresh AC Delco harmonic damper from rockauto.com or a Fluidampr from Leroy.

When sealing alot of things on a 6.5L, try to avoid gaskets, especially with the exhaust. on oil pan, valve covers, etc. the common route is "the right stuff" RTV.

If you are gonna be hot-rodding this, consider fresh head gaskets and ARP studs. I know leroy can get head studs, but IDK about main studs.

If going into a manual transmission pickup, make sure the valley drain tube is in place.

Once in the truck, make sure the starter heat shield gets in, as well as the front brace when you install the starter.

Otherwise, I think that about covers it.

Feel free to ask any questions, the only dumb question is the one never asked.

Good luck!

i will be replacing my A-Team Turbo as soon as i pull the OEM off the 96. I rarely push over 2000 rpm and the ATT likes higher rpms. there is nothing wrong with it and will come with everything to install. i'm out of town for a few weeks and will be posting it on the truck stop when i do.
