4x4 shifter knob removal

How do you remove the 4x4 shifter knob on a '95+ interior? My '93 is threaded.
Brother has a lifted '96.

it is pressed on so he should just be able to pull it off.

I pulled on it a couple times and no movement. I didnt want to pull too hard if that wasnt the way it came off. I will reef on it next time.

Just pull like hell, it slides on. The stalk has a flat side on it that keeps it from spinning. I removed mine and modified a hand grenade to use as a shifter to go on it.

I have some of the grenade but I didnt take any as i was making the adaptor on the lathe but its pretty straight forward. hold on

Jeff, before you start tugging on your knob, make sure it doesn't slip off causing you to hit yourself in the mouth bud.

anything will work on it, it just screws on to a piece of 3/8-16 all thread/

Replaced my 95 lever with a 94 lever with threaded knob. 7/16-14 threads.
Custom stainless shift knob.
