as long as you got the drivetrain it aint too bad, but not sure on a 2wd kit, is the 4x4 one that much different as far as the frame goes for mount points? If anything you might want more lift then normal being a 2wd to start with to give you enough clearance and what not. crossmember, maybe you could use the old 73-87 one and make it work or modify the 88-98 one?

Thanks for the input I will have to search a 2wd kit as for parts I have a 14 bolt and a 3/4 ton 10 bolt and a th350 and a np 208 combo and I think I can handle building a crossmember I just wanted to know if there was a kit for 2wd to save me some fab time

Be warned many guys have had terrible service from ORU and it takes them a long time to get their product to you. If I were you I would get frame measurements to see if the 4wd kits will work. These are ORU's 2wd to 4wd SAS kits...

If you wan't your speedo to work with the 208 you have to install VSS, here is a link on how to intall VSS on a NP205, I believe the 208 should be no different...

I kow a guy on 67-72chevytrucks doing a big block swap on one of these trucks and done aftermarket gauges. But I mean that would work wouldn't it? maybe easier or cheaper then a vss setup on the t-case?

Gauges are expensive (like $800 for a full set) not to mention build supplies for dash. A used NP205 is like $150 and then all you need is the NP241 speedo gear and VSS (sensor w/ pig tail) unless you use the one out of your tranny.

Maybe some of the real expensive ones. I use the sunpros and such and for the oil, water and volts it's only like $40 for all of them, plus a bezel and all the hookup stuff you need. Now fuel and speedo that would be more, and being bigger would cost more to.

I wasn't sure how much stuff you needed for the vss setup though.
