My truck had the same button, it was an OEM security add on. I still have the box if anyone wants it.

It's a remote start something. Have same button in same spot with same ground and location. No clue what it does. Might b programming, might be mode change, never got the manual with my truck so your guess is as good as mine.

Do u have or did you have an aftermarket remote starter? They often have an on/off switch.
Why don't you just follow the wire back to see where it goes.
Or did you ever figure out what it was for?
