I have the interior wiring harness and door harnesses out of a 1997 GMC. Only problem is when I connected it to the convenience center on my 1999 k2500, the horn sounded continually. I figured out the horn relay output was connected into the ground circuit and when I cut it, it stopped. Then I discovered the 1997 had a different ground connection point then the diagram showed in my 1998 service manual. Once grounded, the windows worked perfectly. Finally, the interior lighting connection point had a male plug where the 97 had a female. I'm going to reverse and rewire.
Little differences that lead me to ask - does anyone have the wiring diagrams for the power door locks they can share out of a 1997? I'd like to be able to figure out why the connections were different and how to set it up correctly. The windows and lumbar support work and the door locks don't.
I've got 3 years of stuff covered with a 1999 K2500 truck, using the service manual from a 1998 to hook up power windows, doors, mirrors and lumbar from a 1997 salvage yard.
