New Engine, no start with ignition switch
East 302, Thanks for the schematic and pin outs.. I did not see any voltage at Yellow 5 with a multimeter when I turned to start... so I was using a test light probing the ignition switch contacts and when I probed Yellow 5 it started the engine.. also when I probed the Crank fuse it started...- Incredible Hulk

It is a 97 and Vortec... I was pretty sure I hooked all the grounds back up but I’m going to look for that one thanks for the information- Incredible Hulk

Replaced the Hulks 312,000 mile engine after it started knocking... drove it in the shop with the knock... installed new GM crate engine. Engine won’t start with the ignition switch, will start if switch is on run and I touch a test light to the crank fuse or yellow ignition switch wire...- Incredible Hulk

Problem is the lifters don't care... it seems they fail whether it ever goes into V4 or not.. I did not tell the dealer I was using the Range.. the service manager thought maybe the repair wouldn't be covered because I use Mobile 1 oil.. said it wasn't "dexos" .... they pronounced it "dextoes"...- Incredible Hulk

I thought they just interrupted the fuel to the cylinder and put regular lifters back in them... Haven't seen the 16 since last week... I did look at the 19's since the lifters are supposed to be full time now.. Looked at Toyotas too... they sure don't have as many features as GM like remote...- Incredible Hulk

Me too.... the shop manager came out to listen to it.. went back and brought a mechanic back and they just looked at each other... they said they just fixed one that sounded the same but didn't want to tell me what that problem was.. I told them I'm a big boy tell me.. said if it was the same...- Incredible Hulk

AFM lifter or Lifters have done something bad Friday I did the remote start and the closer I got the more noise it was making... sounds like the torque converter coming apart.. but they confirmed lifters is the problem- Incredible Hulk

300,000 miles.... 302XXX now Bad news my 16 has 19,820 and has the dreaded lifter failure... Dropped it off this morning and the dealer called and said they hope to have it back to me by the end of next week.....- Incredible Hulk
