I scored a console I have been hunting for quite a while. The Escalade console lid finally broke on me Friday right before I found this LT2 console on marketplace for a steal, and in the right color. I need to make some modifications to make it fit, but it is the right height and has improved...

I replaced all of the lifters Friday and Saturday with a set of Morel 7717 lifters. Fired it up Saturday evening and no more ticking! I also polished the radiator tanks from where coolant had stained them, replaced the broken drain petcock, replaced the drivers upper ball joint (the other 3 are...

Pulled the intake to start disassembly of the top end. Went ahead and test fitted my Whipple while the intake was off to see what kind of clearance issues I should expect. Looks like it will be pretty simple to sort out thankfully!

The thing is though, I've put 12,000 miles on this engine with all new valvetrain (rockers, rocker bearings, springs, lifters, etc.), and it just started making the ticking a couple weeks ago before I quit driving it. You would think it would have done this much sooner if it were just normal for...

Do you have upgraded trunnion bearings in the rockers? I changed the oil and had a few cylinders ticking for a few minutes after starting. It got quiet except for the one tick I've been hearing. Definitely valvetrain related.

Not a whole lot of updates. The Suburban has developed a ticking noise in or around the engine. I have unplugged each coil pack and injector while running, and the ticking still remains. It is not my headers or exhaust, as I have replaced the header gaskets, and can hear at each collector that...

Jeremy Rogers with Cunningham Machine produces the sleeves. They're very nice. I'm also running their rag joint delete steering shaft that uses u joints instead. The route i took definitely beats reaming out knuckles for the ball joints and flipping tie rod ends using GMT800 knuckles.

I ended up buying them off of ebay. Try to find a seller that has both sides from the same vehicle so it saves on shipping!

Got the Astro knuckle and GMT900 brake swap done this past week. What a difference in stopping distance! Everything was bolt on with no modifications neccesary. I do highly reccomend getting an alignment afterwards as it threw my caster off and caused a death wobble. I used stoptech stainless...

Broke my PB last night with a 8.653 with no changes from last time. Suprised a cammed 5th gen Camaro as well! I'm planning on doing the Astro knuckle swap this weekend with GMT900 brakes and cv axles. Looking foward to seeing what difference it makes in braking!

I have a goal of getting the Suburban to 8.50 in the 1/8th mile before I install my Whipple blower. Here is an 8.70 pass slip with a 1.92 60'. Plans are to do a little weight reduction and go down to a 28"-29" tire to change my effective gear ratio. I can also find better tires for those...

The one mustang I ran did a 2.38 60' I still need to make it to a 1/4 mile track and see how it does. I'd love to break into the 13's, but we'll see. Thankfully it hooks going around the water box! They didn't have scales there that I knew of. If it doesn't get into the 13's, this should help!

I finally made it to test and tune without it being cancelled due to rain. My best time in the 1/8th mile was a 8.85 with a 1.999 60' which was quicker than the 3 5.0 Coyote Mustangs that were running tonight (8.90s-9.20s). I entered into a dial-in bracket race, but lost first round due to it...

Had dual 3" exhaust installed last week with an x-pipe and 2 Carven R mufflers, with the exit behind the passenger rear tire. Still loud, but fairly quiet inside. Wired up my fuel composition sensor Friday night, and had it dyno tuned Saturday morning. It laid down 402 hp and 418 ft/lbs torque...

I'll be sure to post numbers after I have it dialed in on the dyno and make some passes at Rockingham Dragway in NC. The engine itself is around 550-560 at the crank, which is considerably more hp than the LS3, Gen 1 Coyote, and 392 Hemi. It'll also depend on the driver too if i'm against a manual.

No timeslips yet (haven't been to the track) , but I used an app similar to Dragy from HP Tuners and it was 13.1 with a bad launch on my end. I'm finding stock camaro 6.2s run 12.8, stock mustang 5.0s run 13.2, and stock SRT8 392s run 13.3. This is also on my base tune, so I'm sure it'll be in...

Update, Installed the new trans and converter, drove it easy for 8 miles to make sure it shifted right, then decided to get on it just a little from a dig, and once it went into 4th, I eased back into it and it revved up as if it was in neutral. Frustrated, I pulled the trans and converter back...

Installed my TA Performance Girdle Support cover last night. Very pleased with the fitment and quality of this piece. I need to eventually powdercoat a few things to pretty it up some. Transmission place finally got my output shaft in from their supplier, so hoping that the transmission ships...

I do still have the mirrors, but I don't plan to install them on the other suburban since it has the defrost glass and my tow mirrors do not. I appreciate it!

You read that correctly indeed. Of the 7 years I've owned it, it's only really seen offroad once. Now that I have another Suburban, I won't be using this one for hunting. The horsepower bug has bit me, and with that I've been trying to find ways to make it quicker besides just sheer horsepower...

Quite a few people punch them out, but I don't believe they can be honed much more after that because the walls begin to get thin. First I heard of it was on performancetrucks forum a few years ago. Much cheaper than buying a gen 4 aluminum 6.2.

Thank you! I really hated to see those black 20x10s go, but they rubbed more than I liked, and to lower it they had to go. I was going to paint the flares, but decided to just remove them since they can cause rust and rub into my paint. I'll save them to maybe stick on something else later though.
