5.3 swap into an '89
Don't forget about your transmission, especially if it has some mileage on it. The 5.3 in stock form makes decent power, well over what you currently have in it. The only similarities between the old style 350 and the LSx platform are the following: 4.4" bore centers Both have 8 cylinders If you look around, you can find a good deal on a 5.3 engine that you can swap in.- GeosTahoe
