12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

This sounds like a great swap! I had a few questions tho... Does the trucks original black box need to be tuned to disable VATS or is that on the 0411? Also I would like to try tuning myself with hptuners. If I totally fail at that could I still send the 0411 to black bear for a tune or wud I be...

hey sorry i take so long to get back. first of all thanks slippy thats a great thread, not sure why i didnt find it myself. As far as the ls it may be more practical but I forgot to say my reason for wanting this truck is for the 5 spd manual it has. Not having a torque convertor to worry about...

cam an valve help

I have a 97 1500 truck that Im swapping the 200k+ motor for a (rather) freshly rebuilt 350 from a rolled truck. Since I have the motor setting out anyway I was hoping to do a cam, valve springs & black bear tune maybe? thinking in the 1000 dollar range.. It is a truck but Im not too worried...
