    K2xx headlights on gmt400?

Solid points. I think they would flow with our trucks though.

    K2xx headlights on gmt400?

Am i the only one that look at the headlights on the newer trucks and think with a modified grille, they may fit or fenders etc? I mean if they could fill in properly, they'd be worth making a custom grille for... The style would fit our trucks. Really the k2xx trucks are a retro throwback on...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

295/75R22.5s or 255/70R22.5s? Both are technically too big for this truck but they've both been done on pickups... cut and fab will be needed if I don't want to lift... Just thinking now. Still no time for it. House ain't done but my note pad is filling up...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I'm sure is a robust rear end. I didn't mean it like it won't hold. I just meant it as in if something where to fail under stress, that would be my bet. I didn't think about universals but I'm 99%sure I will need an all new driveshaft so if I were to have one built, a more stout setup would be...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I searched and searched and searched to find that tranny... I only came across it because I wanted a doubler overdrive but a granny gear and bam, 7 speed tremec popped up. Seems to have the right gear ratios.... Honestly, I think the Dana 80 will be the weakest point in the drivetrain... maybe...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

Guaranteed!!! I haven't measured it but the number I've been told is it's about 9 inches longer than a 12v cummins... which barely fits... dog house if I need to haha. And supposedly it's 4 to 5 inches taller... maybe it'll fit bought wise... he'll I need to build engine mounts either way right!?

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I'm hoping this one doesn't. Like I said, tremec is notorious for their heavy duty car transmissions... they shift like a hot knife in butter and hold up to anything. So with any luck, their commercial trans are good. If it's half as quiet and serves its purpose, I'll be happy. But it's ideal...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

Excellent point. The noise doesn't typically bother me after the long tube to straight pipe duels on the 454... and that straight 6 duramax is an extremely quit diesel. The tranny I know nothing about but tremec is known for building an extremely strong tranny with extremely easy shifting...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

Just wondering if anyone on here is good with Photoshop? Probably a far stretch in a group of truck enthusiasts but hell, no harm in asking

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I'm not ready to give up on my "Napoleon syndrome" massive engine idea yet... UPDATE: just got off the horn and located the isuzu 6hk1 aka duramax 7800. It's probably not a high torque version but it's a running ready to go engine for under 2k locally... with this savings, I would like to...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

Cat just scares me because I've been told the newer engines had a lot of problems. A dt is my last choice if all else falls

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

Only if I can't find a duramax 7800, isuzu 6hk1 or some cat motor that works.... I don't like the idea of crossbreeding...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I don't want to go a pickup engine. I want to explore engines used in gm medium duty trucks. Although if I were to stray from gm, the dt466 sounds pretty sick...

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

I really like the idea of a medium duty engine... I love the idea of that 7.8 duramax.... I keep my eyes open. No luck so far...

How to build a gooseneck into rollback?

with the drop axles, I may only need a dovetail and those... way easier lol. i'll check tractor supply in town for axles. otherwise, i'll need to look at one in person to really grasp how to go about that kind of build.

How to build a gooseneck into rollback?

I don't have an idea of maximum load angle. but what I was talking about is what Bob L posted for a link which allows a very small load angle unlike what a tilt would allow which is in skylark's amazon link I didn't think about drop axles but i'm looking into them now after reading what you...

How to build a gooseneck into rollback?

going from scratch. it is a low boy. my car sits awfully low and is a 4th gen firebird so has the longest nose. the rollback idea came up after I started searching for trailers that load lowered cars easily and the rollbacks are one of them. the ramps I have are extremely heavy and barely allow...

How to build a gooseneck into rollback?

just as the title states, i'm wondering if anyone knows how to build a rollback or tilt trailer but with a gooseneck tongue instead of a bumper pull. I have a 16 ft goose now that I would like to lengthen to 18-20ft for towing longer vehicles. has anyone done it? have any ideas?

TOW RIG OVERHAUL! 2nd time... diesel swap

CAT doesn't sound bad to me. but the reviews on them sound worse than the 6.5TD... I plan to build a tow rig. for example, the reviews I get on the 7.8l duramax, are owners complaining about wanting more power... well they made 200hp models with 500ft lbs tq and then 275hp with 860 ft lbs tq...
