Rust Prevention - Boxed Section of Frame

Your frame is looking great! Check out this method for cleaning the inside of a frame: I did the same thing and use compressed air to blow the frame out, then bought a couple cans of Eastwood inner frame coating in black and gave everything inside the front boxed section 3 good coats. i did...

    Spider Injector Upgraded???

I'm currently performing this upgrade on my 98 305 and for the life of me cannon get the upper part of the fuel injection body to seat into the upper intake manifold. It just absolutely will not go no matter how much I try to pull it up into position. It's almost like its too big. Also the...

Asking for help to figure out what's going on, white exhaust valves?

Awesome guys that's exactly what I was wondering. Now to see how much getting the heads done will cost me. Thanks!

Asking for help to figure out what's going on, white exhaust valves?

Yeah they're the same, just colored much differently between the different heads. I thought bank 2 was the passenger side, so when I got a lean code I was surprised to see it the driver side valves that look this way. From my understanding white exhaust valves are running too hot due to a lean...

Asking for help to figure out what's going on, white exhaust valves?

So I got a code for a lean bank 2 (P0174) and my truck was running terribly. I could barely get it backed out of the drive, ran rough, pinged and stumbled, no power at all. I pulled the intake to find the spider leaking, lots of raw fuel in the intake runners which confuses me about a lean code...

    EGR

Here is one that includes the block off plate with gasket, and two large bolt style plugs, one for the intake and one for the exhaust manifold. I'm sure there are various brands and such, I just happened to come across this one first...

    EGR

There is a kit that comes with a bolt to plug where the EGR tube connects to the lower intake, and also included is a block off plate to seal where the EGR solenoid attaches. I'll see if I can find it for you. :)

    Coolant filter?

How long it does it take for that sludge to accumulate in your coolant? It sounds like you may have a leak thats letting contaminated junk get in your coolant. Does the truck ever overheat? I'm wondering if you're getting combustion byproducts in your system.

Any problems removing oil pump when distrubutor shaft is removed?

Hey guys, I hope everyone has been well. I've been freshening up my 5.0L Vortec in my 1998 K1500 with parts like a new spider injector to replace my horribly leaking old unit. I ended up having to replace my lower intake (broken heater outlet caused a crack in the manifold attempting to remove...

Frame rust removal and painting to do's and what not to do.

I know a lot of guys measure and make their own cross supports from square tubing, I don't think I've ever seen any for sale. They're one of the parts that are pretty much obscure and need to be donated from a clean bed for fabricated, as far as I know. Your truck is looking great by the way!

    And then this happened...

Good idea Kenny! I'll have to do that upgrade, thanks!

    And then this happened...

That's good to hear! Sounds like it's time for an EZ out kit. I'm guessing the reverse drill bit style should work well.

    And then this happened...

So I'm changing out my spider injector and trying to squeeze my arms into places and I feel something pop and suddenly my arm has more room. The fitting on my outlet to my heater core broke off into my lower intake manifold. Time to remove the lower manifold now. Looks like it'll need drilled...

    My 1988 K1500

Man your truck is looking so awesome. Loving the build! Do you happen to know off hand which radiator and fans were used in your setup? Any product info or links to the parts would be greatly appreciated. I love the Flex-A-Lite kit but i have trouble justifying well over $500 for it. Cant wait...

    Suburban Family Hauler

I absolutely love those wheels! I might have to steal your idea when i get 20's in the hopefully not too distant future. Those AR's look right at home on a 400!

    Rusted upper control arm mount

If you're referring to the bracket that is welded to the frame, it will be something you'll need to fab.

Truck runs fantastic, then multiple misfire the next day?

Well, symptoms have been low fuel pressure, misfiring, stumbling, raw fuel smell, and black soot filled exhaust. I think I found the problem...

    Steering box

AC Delco parts are usually good, don't have anything bad to say about them. If money isn't a huge concern a lot of people recommend Red Head steering gears for their quality. https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/

Truck runs fantastic, then multiple misfire the next day?

Thanks for the suggestion! The new cap and rotor I just installed are AC Delco from Amazon and they've only been on a few weeks. Do you guys think that 53 p.s.i. of fuel pressure at idle is a concern?
