Did my install of NBS master and 04 rear disc from silverado on my 95 Tahoe

You also stated that the c3500 calipers wouldn't work with the nbs master, creating a mushy pedal again... Can you elaborate more on this please, as I was going to do that exact same thing. Thanks

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Ok guys, I found a pair of the Wilwood spot calipers on ebay for $170. My question is, would you run both calipers on each rear rotor, or would only one be needed. I prefer things on my truck to be as symmetrical as possible. So I'd run both sides for looks, and I'm sure it wouldn't hurt...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperList.aspx?subname=Mech+Spot This is the Wilwood link I found for mechanical calipers. It says they except rotor widths from .25-.81 and rotor sizes from 6"-13". So sounds like a winner to me.

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Ok so that idea is totally doable.... Wilwood still sells the mechanical caliper for like $85. And if I spend more time searching I find one that will work with the Impala SS rotors.. Would just need to fab up a bracket for it, and adapt the factory brake cable and done. A legal mechanical...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Dude that's pretty wicked... I've seen stuff like that on rock crawlers and monster trucks, but seeing it on a halfton has got my mind Rollin! I'm gonna see what else used a cable caliper and see if I can't make something work. Great ideas guys!

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

That's a pretty cool idea for an electric parking brake, but looks like it's just an actuator that takes the place of the pedal operation. You would mount the actuator on the frame, and when engaged it pulls parking brake cable to engage the parking brake. Really a good alternative to having a...

Also, I'm curious if the line lock solenoid could be redesigned to 100% duty... I work in commercial hvac and deal with solenoids daily. Which most can be found in 100% duty cycles. Would just need a better solenoid I believe.

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

I understand your concern completely, however I don't use my parking brake, and I could count on one hand the times used it in the last several years. Your point is valid for sure, however I'm fortunate enough that my truck isn't a daily driver, it gets roughly 30-50 miles a month put on it...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

In a month or so I should have my entire brake system lined out. Starting with the front.... Front 1ton calipers, crossed drilled/slotted rotors, ceramic pads, and steel braided brake lines. 03 Tahoe master cylinder with brake line adapter. ABS deleted and removed, adjustable prop valve...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Well like I said previously, I would figure the rear disc conversion out one way or another. So for those of you interested in doing this conversion WITHOUT an e-brake then here is what I used. 98 chevy s10 front calipers from Orilleys Ceramic brake pads for s10 from ebay Weld-on Metric...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Just realized that in 6 months nobody had any input on this topic, more specifically my questions on this swap. Does anybody have an answer, or am I alone on this.... Doesn't make much difference to me, I'll figure it out, I just thought this was one of the "better" forums than the others...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Nobody??? Well I'm still in mockup phase due to life and lack of funds. But I ordered the Speedway brake lines stated in another post only to realize that they won't work with the s10 calipers.. The 7/16 banjo bolt is too big for the caliper. And getting the right bolt will be too small going...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

So has anyone using the s10 front calipers and impala rotors have any issues with uneven pad wear? Noticing on mock up that the impala rotor is obviously smaller than s10 front rotor, so the piston has to expand farther to make contact with the rotor, so figuring out the spacing on caliper...

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Nevermind bro, I missed a page.... So drill 2 holes in the weld on bracket and done.. Lol It pays to pay attention.. I have a Miller 120v might welder but haven't welded in years.. Would really hate to lose rear brakes over crappy welds.. Thanks guys

Rear Drum to Disc Conversion kit questions.

Hey man, I noticed that the caliper bracket was the same from the caddy caliper to the s10 caliper... I purchased 98 s10 front calipers for my conversion, so will the caliper brackets still work? And also, does anyone make a bolt on caliper bracket that bolts to the axle flange??? Thanks for...

what size 15" tire with 5-7 drop?

I have a 4/5 drop on mine, and the factory 235's fit fine no problem. However with 5/7 you may want to stick with the 70's as opposed to the 75's due to some rubbing on dips and whatnot.. Alot of guys run air shocks in the rear for extra lift when needed, but my experience with them is they...

    Static drop questions

So I'm guessing that you need the K 1500 upper control arms to do the flip right? Someone enlighten me on the benefits of the flip if you're only static, cuz this seems like it'd be great for Bagged trucks...

    LonestarStunner's ECSS slow build thread

Thanks man, I appreciate the comment. I think the best part about it, is we all get to build our trucks the way we want, and we get to enjoy the finished product. I love the saying "I didn't build it to meet your expectations, I built it to meet mine". I think that really says it all.

Hey guys, has anyone with a 97-99 with the 3rd joint thought of just replacing the rag Joint with a urethane bushing as opposed to the rag Joint rubber that comes with a repair kit? Just saying, we replace all of out rubber suspension bushings with urethane, why not the rag joint also? I have...
