    92 K2500 Revival

Looks great! I’m diggin the green. “Gobstopper” had me laughing but that’s a very accurate description. And the green ones taste the best. lol Would one of those suction cup pullers do the trick? I have no clue on body work really but that’s what I always see being used. Harbor freight has some...

    Best mud tires?

I ran the khumo kl71 on my Jeep for MANY years. Those were a beast in the rocks and decent in sand. Only burped em once on a v-notch/ledge climb out in Superstition. Tread life was good but they were loud. Ride wasn’t too bad. Many comments about the Jeep being on tonka tires over the years...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

And the hits just keep on coming. Truck was running super funky this morning. Stopped at a stop sign and then had no forward movement. Luckily I still have reverse. For now. I’m thinking it’s torque converter because in drive the rear drive shaft isnt spinning in any gear. This means power...

    Trailmaster bushings

Does anyone know if the Trailmaster lift kit uses stock type bushings on the control arms? Also what other parts am I looking for with a Trailmaster lift kit. Backstory: I have another K2500 suburban with a Trailmaster kit on it but it’s out of commission. The truck not the lift. I need to...

    How do i do a tune up? 1995 Chevrolet K2500HD 7.4l

Thanks for posting/asking about this. It’s on my to do list and the responses have saved me the time and effort of research. If I remember right the cap and rotor are a bear so plan some time accordingly. Also the cheap foam pads from harbor freight will make the task more comfortable when you...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

It’s not all of them but you can get the gist. Fit is pretty good and should improve with the more times they get butts in them. Bottom line (pun intended) the seats are protected and should be way more comfortable in heat and cold than the leather stuff.

Did I screw up my Engine? Lucas ZDDP - Good running TBI

We will need some further info. Opaque oil can be a good thing if what you put in helped to clean carbon out. Was there anything metallic in there with it? If you still have the used oil can you run a magnet through? Are there any symptoms or anything you’re seeing after the oil change...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

Just keep your eyes open. That’s how I found this one. I also found that expanding search zones on CL helps find some more interesting stuff as well. More efficient than just changing zip codes. The longer it takes to find the more you can stash away for a better quality rig.

I hear you on the leather becoming worn/torn. For me it’s the kids leaving whatever they decide they don’t want to pick up from inside whatever vehicle they are riding in at the time. Constant battle against the “dropped French fry” army. lol Pictures of steps to protect the seats will be...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

These have been “stored” in a thrashed Suburban that’s been sitting by my driveway for about 8 years. Southern California at about 3800’ elevation so we get temps from -10 all the way to @110 throughout the year. Not as much humidity as y’all get in Texas though. Probably the same amount of...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

Well cleaned leather seats almost ready to go in. I pick the truck up tomorrow morning. Maybe this evening. We’ll see how SWMBO feels after her shift.

    Laredo

Trust me. You’re doing more building than at least 95% of vehicle owners. Looks great!! Best thing about buying most vehicles in California is they haven’t been messed with a lot. Have to pass smog and all that. I’ve been debating on a lift kit for the 99 Burb I just picked up. Cant wait to see...

    Off Road Question

As long as your truck has 4WD you should be good on some sort of off-road escapades. Nothing too hardcore based on what I see though. If you want it to perform to a higher level there are some things you need to look at. 1) If you can change the wheels/tires, go with a smaller diameter wheel...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

3 more shipping codes due from FedEx. Dash cover came in and it’s pretty cool looking. Nice and red necky just for Southern California. Now I just need to get the truck back from the shop. Lol I’m thinking some air horns and front/rear dash cams are in the future. Some Mercedes owner tried to...

    What is best?

If we’re bringing Cummins into the mix….. I’d say go for a 6bt or, depending on Intended use, the R2.8. Forgo the 4bt unless you run a paint business and need a mobile can shaker though. lol For an off-road rig the R2.8 backed by a 6 speed should be very capable even on this size rig. The more...

    Sal's K2500 Dana 60 Solid Axle Swap

holy Carps!! Now that is what drivetrain dreams are made of!! I’m going back through the thread in depth, but that’s what I’d love to do!! 6bt/4l80e but I’d go with an Atlas 4 speed for transfer case or dual case the 241. A little more pricey but that CRAWL!!!! (Now that you already have the...

    95 K2500 interior swap

Wholly Wow!! I thought I was doing good switching the triple bench in my 99’ with the same year buckets and some cool seat covers. You have definitely gone above and beyond.

    My 99 K2500 Suburban

Man every time I go through my “to do on the Burb” list I have to come back to this thread. Makes my list look pretty easy. lol you’ve done an awesome job on all that body work. I may be tackling something of the sort in the future so I’ll be studying what you used and how you used it. Love the...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

I’m testing this shop out honestly. So far it’s been a very comfortable experience. Family shop but professional. They didn’t just do the work and give me a $10k bill. I picked and chose what they do that will fit into my budget. And they have Veteran discounts so that’s always a plus...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

Yeah I probably got the terminology wrong but you get the idea. The whole steering set up needs to be replaced. I don’t have a problem tackling some of it but it’s already in the shop, on a lift I don’t have, and they’re not charging me an arm and a leg for the work. May as well let them...

1999 Yukon 4x4 Selectable Rear Locker Recommendations?

ARB air locker all the way. If I’m going to spend the money on this I’ll go with a tried and true setup. I had one on my 06’ LJ Rubicon and it just would not be stopped. The peace of mind that an air locker provides is amazing. Do the dual compressor and plumb in a smaller storage tank. Having...

    What is best?

This is an older thread but I’ll chime in. Doing a Duramax swap is going to cost mucho dinero!! Engine, tranny, transfer case alone are going to be a hefty price. And if you do a custom combo the adapters are going to eat budget as well. Getting the engine mounts correct and all the engine...

    New (to me) 99 Burb

So finally got the verdict from the shop today. There is a LOT of work to be done on this rig. Much of it was expected for a @25 yr old vehicle. It’s mostly seals and bushings that haven’t been upkept. I definitely don’t have the cash to get everything done so just going to do what I believe...

    My version of Dad’s Truck

Always liked the look of those step side/ flare side models. Adds a bit of “class” to a workhorse. Welcome to the forums from another newb. Look forward to seeing the questions that will come up. Maybe you’ll ask the questions that I need to so I don’t look so new. lol

    New (to me) 99 Burb

We need to stop Suburban on Suburban violence. lol Yeah I know it’s going to add to the cost of the vehicle but it costs less than the alternative. It is a solid vehicle just has some quirks. Cant wait to get the seat covers in to redo the seating. Give it some redneck flare and have the Lazy...
