    Engine swap input

Ok will definitely look at some different piston and oil pan options, I will spend the extra money where needed especially for longevity. I was doing some more reading and saw a lot of talk about compression, someone on here recommended a 9:1 ratio, what are the things I would need to achieve...

    Engine swap input

Thanks a lot been spending a while looking for parts, unfortunately I don't have a local parts store nearby, at least not that I know of. As far as the cam goes I mostly just cruise around at 1500-2500 rpm. This is my build list so far let me know if I should change anything or something would...

    Engine swap input

Ok will definitely keep that in mind, i don't mind spending extra on tools if they will last a lifetime. As far as the rebuild itself goes, does anyone have experience with this one? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5603016&cc=1303366&pt=5316&jsn=1106 I would be using the Summit 8800...

If I can save that $1500 I would be more than willing to do it myself! I was doing some research and browsing...

    Engine swap input

This is my second post so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a 1998 chevy c1500 with a 5.7 350 vortec, the issue is the engine was making a weird noise and was told by multiple mechanic friends I have that the engine is on its way out. I am personally not the most mechanically inclined...

    Need help identifying noise

Yeah, I was more referring to the chirping/ squeaking noise. Had someone tell me a distributor bearing could be the issue, I’m not even sure what that is lol.

    Need help identifying noise

Ok thanks a lot for the tips. I don’t have a stethoscope but will get one as soon as possible. I was researching to find similar noises and saw one that was making a similar noise and they said it was the lifters, could that also be a possibility?
