Need some help with a no start problem

Well, I got it running again, and I replaced the pump and filter for no reason. There was a wire coming off the distribution block on the firewall that had fried, like it disintegrated when I moved it, and it apparently is the power feed to the pump. So I ran a new in-line fuse holder with a 20...

Need some help with a no start problem

OK, I am going to try to test the pump this afternoon, it's hard to find time during the week as we only have 1 vehicle so by the time I get home, I only have about 20 minutes before I have to go get my wife again, then dinner, then kids to bed, etc, etc....

Need some help with a no start problem

Am I right in thinking that the ICM is ok if the truck starts for a bit when fuel is added directly to the throttle body?

Need some help with a no start problem

I looked up where the ICM is located. Would that being bad stop the fuel pump from working? And would the truck run like it does with fuel being added directly if that was bad?

Need some help with a no start problem

It fires when if I put some fuel in the TBI, it'll burn through that and die again. I can hear the fuel pump relay click on when I turn the key, does that help? What is the best way to provide direct power to the pump to test it? Where is the ICM located?

Need some help with a no start problem

Hey guys, I am at my wits end with my truck not starting. It started Friday the 13th, go figure, I got home from work and it died right in my parking spot, and hasn't started since. It had started just fine at work and ran fine and started at the couple stops I made on the way home that day. So...

    Idle issue.

So how do I test if the one I had is still good, and for that matter how can I tell if it's OEM?

    Idle issue.

Yea, it's a Duralast, this one - https://www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/egr-valve/duralast-egr-valve/182477_160301_0 I would've had to order an ACDelco, or pay a ridiculous price for one at Chevy. The Duralast was in stock. I tried cleaning the old one, didn't do anything.

    Idle issue.

My throttle does have that "neck snap" like response. I'll test out the IAC and the TPS. Thanks again for the help.

    Idle issue.

Got the new EGR in, idles much better, tho still stumbles a bit on occasion, but I'm pretty sure it did that before the really bad idle. This stumble is almost like a miss, but very random and sporadic. I'll see how it handles traffic tomorrow and report back.

    Idle issue.

Got home and pulled the vacuum line, idled perfect. I'll throw in a new EGR and see how she acts . Thanks for the tip.

    Idle issue.

Was this meant for this thread? I can get a video of the noise, but no one has mentioned an IAC yet.

    Idle issue.

Thanks for the replies, I will try plugging the line and see what happens. The puddles were probably axle height or more. So is it normal to be able to hear the injectors over the other engine noises, fan, exhaust, etc while the air cleaner assembly is in place?

    Idle issue.

Hey guys, I've been fighting an idle issue on my truck, 93 K1500 350. It started after I went through some deep puddles with my son. Now once it warms up, it idles like crap and has died a couple times in traffic. What I've done so far is replace the cap and rotor, plugs, wires, cleaned the EGR...

The Build of My $200 Dollar Truck

Congrats man! Great build thread, great truck, can't wait to see the completion. A bit late, but as for your steelies, keep 'em red, it would look great with the white.

    LED turn signals

They work great. The plug was on the inside like ima93chevyguy suggested. I love how they look both during the day and at night. Tho I do worry about how visible they are in bright sunlight being an orange led against black.

Wiring LED cubes to come on with reverse lights

Is that the "hot" wire for reverse? I couldn't get anything to work for my LED strip under the tailgate that has reverse lights. I'll have to try that one.
