    99 k3500 abs delete

I don't know how much different a 99 is but I just did this on a 95. I kept the original master cylinder. I pulled the fuse on the ABS. I found the activation wire for the dash light and wired it into the switch on the combination valve. The light is activated by a path to ground. By the...

    Ok. I misunderstood. a

I deleted the broken ABS module

I believe it will be similar. Basically, I used the OE master cylinder with a combination valve that was probably originally designed for a car from the 70's.

I deleted the broken ABS module

The front portion of the master cylinder operates the back brakes. The back of the proportioning valve is the back brake side. So to do it correctly the lines must cross.

I deleted the broken ABS module

It was a generic valve from summit. I posted the part number on the previous page.

I deleted the broken ABS module

It's the plug circled in blue. There are only 2 wires. If you take a multimeter and check continuity to ground. It's the one that doesn't have continuity to ground. Also, you can use a test light. If the test light comes on that's the correct wire. You can also have someone just watch the...

I deleted the broken ABS module

I just went out and found the wire to hook to the switch. It's a 2 wire plug ground one side out and the light will come on. Wire that side to the switch. The other poster is right. You will loose front or rear brakes before the light comes on.

There is a slight gap. The picture just makes it look like it's touching. I will probably bend them a little more.

I deleted the broken ABS module

I got it from Summit SUM-760182. There are probably cheaper options. I bought it because it came with the bracket and I thought the tubing would be a drop in. The tubing wasn't.

I deleted the broken ABS module

I haven't hooked it up yet. I found the old pressure switch on the ABS. It consist of 2 wires. I just need to figure out how to trigger the dash light. I'll look at that tomorrow

I deleted the broken ABS module

I'm not a tubing bender so be kind.

I deleted the broken ABS module

Since the ABS was broke and couldn't be bled on my 95 I took it out. NO ABS is better than NO BRAKES. I used a proportioning valve made for disc/drum brakes in place of it. The brakes behave a lot better in a panic braking scenario. The 10" drums are probably a weak point but I'm happy with...

    Bleed Broken ABS Module

I purchased a GM style combination valve from summit racing that is made for disc front and drum rear.

    Bleed Broken ABS Module

It threw every code in the book when I scanned it a long time ago. One of them was relating to motor or pump failed. I hear it hum a little before the light comes on if you reset it. I'm probably just going to bypass it. It seems to be the solution on these. I have a combination valve and...

    Bleed Broken ABS Module

Can the Kelsey Hayes ABS module be bled on a 95 truck if the pump is stuck? I know about the little port on the side.

    Fast Braking seems sluggish

The rear end is 10". A lot of what you mentioned I have scanned through but do not completely understand it. I have no idea what calipers are on my truck. It had 400,000 on it and I doubt they are original. I used a rebuilt master cylinder from Oreilly. At the time I was un aware of...

    Fast Braking seems sluggish

Fast braking in my 95 Tahoe seems sluggish. Brakes always felt fine when braking normally except a lot of pedal travel. I replaced the master cylinder and brake booster last year due to them both being bad. This weekend I replaced drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, rotors, and pads. Rear brakes...

Has anyone used a Holley 2 Barrel on TBI adapter plate

The ignition clamp for my scope came in. It confirms a lean miss.

Has anyone used a Holley 2 Barrel on TBI adapter plate

This was going to be part of the carb swap. Never though about just dropping an HEI in and see how it runs. I know I still need the wires going back to the ECM to trigger the injectors. Not sure if I have those. I need to look.

Has anyone used a Holley 2 Barrel on TBI adapter plate

It was installed new with the rebuild. Only about 4000 miles on it.

Has anyone used a Holley 2 Barrel on TBI adapter plate

I've been fighting the same issue on the truck for about a year now. It's just a toy vehicle not a daily driver. It has a rough idle that I haven't been able to solve. It had a misfire before I rebuild the motor as well. Since the rebuild it basically has all new sensors and normal tune-up...

Has anyone used a Holley 2 Barrel on TBI adapter plate

Has Anyone ever put a Holley 2 barrel on a TBI adapter plate. I understand most everything involved with getting the transmission to shift and other problems. I know some will say this is a dumb idea but I'm contemplating it. I have been chasing my tail with electrical problems for a while.

    Timing randomly drops 4-8 degrees

I put a pin in the back of the coil on the 12+ in. I attached my scope to it and ran it for about 10 minutes. I never saw a drop in voltage. I think the supply voltage dropping out is a dead end. It was worth a shot. Tomorrow I'm going to investigate the ECM power dropping. I'm waiting on...

    Timing randomly drops 4-8 degrees

I appreciate the thoughts and the diagrams. My scope only has 1 channel. However, I can I will tie into coil power wire and see if I see the power dropping out. If, so I may run a hot wire directly from the battery to the coil + and see what happens.
