Swap complete! 4.3v to a 5.7 v 1997 K1500 Cheyanne
Working on my 97 k1500 engine swap project and thought i would share my experiences with doing this rebuild and engine swap. As of 3/6/13, the swap is finally complete! I have worked my butt off on this over the last few weeks and alot of dumb...
A few shots of the progress, draining fluids, removing stuff. The truck had alot of leaks from the engine as well as the trans and transfer case so i decided to pull it all out so i could do a good cleaning and reseal.
So here it is, my 1997 Chevy Cheyenne, i bought this truck 10 years ago and i have never regretted it although it has always had a shortcoming for me. A 4.3!!!! I almost didnt buy this truck because of the v6 but i will say it has never let me down, i think the manual trans kept it bearable for...
$150 shipped to 26726 for the compressor and accumulator? Sorry not lowballing, its all i have at the moment, already blew my budget on my 97 engine swap this week but i need a compressor, bearings are shot in mine, lol...
Well thats kinda where i'm at too, but i was hoping to atleast see a few pics with hoods different that the norm. So i knew. I just wish someone made a hood cowl that would be alittle wider, some regular cowl hood look to narrow.
Just looking to replace the stock hood on my 97 k1500 and i'm not sure if i want to go with the same hood i see on everybody's trucks, so looking for trucks that the owner decided to step outside the box...
Nice to see this thread, i am getting ready to swap a 98 5.7 into my 97 4.3 manual trans truck. I have already rebuilt the engine, just need a cam to finish it up, then bolt the heads on. Still need headers and a clutch kit. Then should be pretty much set, i purchased the whole truck with the v8...
