I have a 1998 Silverado Z71 w/5.7l and want to remove the AC components entirely. It currently doesn't work and the cost to repair isn't worth it, as I don't use it. Anyone done this before and how was it done. Any help and suggestions are welcome. Thanks
Gonna go down on Monday and take a look at it. He took it out of the axle and actuated it. Sent pics which looks like it moved. Thanks for your help. Hopefully it'll be something relatively simple. Its supposed to snow a bit and we're working outside.

1998 Z-71 Silverado short bed with 350 vortec engine. Automatic transmission. Pushbutton 4WD. Bought new in December 1997. Hit the search engine to no avail. Maybe I just didn't put in the right words!! Will the vin number help me out?? Numbers in the glovebox?? Original window sticker?? Only...
