Salvage yard leaf springs for my SAS

It will be 3" wider if going from 4" backspacing to 2.5" backspaced wheels.

Salvage yard leaf springs for my SAS

They are 15x10 wheels and I cant remember if they are 2.5 or 2.75" backspacing. The boggers are 15" wide

Salvage yard leaf springs for my SAS

They are 15's. You need around 2.5" backspacing to clear the dual piston calipers and it still takes a little grinding. Id think twice about the D44 if going bigger then 35's. I've been there broke lots spent lots and then upgraded to the 1 tons.

Salvage yard leaf springs for my SAS

Pull the overload and atleast one or two leafs. I'm running 4+1 stock 52" Springs with the overload removed and ended up with about 4" of lift from them plus the 4" from my brackets. Add on a 1" zero rate and 1.5" body lift and it's around 10" total lift with 38.5 boggers.

A quick front 2" receiver I made up and still need to weld onto the front SAS x-member Rear diff guard Then I had plans on ordering a front locker very soon but ended up buying a new side by side that came factory with a front locker LOL Other then fixing the sloppy front driveshaft there...

You can drill and tap the factory end cap. Do it on the outer edge and there is enough meat to hold it, I put a JB Weld around it for added security. Ran it all last year with no issues.

No shims or anything, just mark your caps and pull it out. Then put it in and tourque the caps down. A good tip for pulling the carrier is to take a rag and ball it up and stuff it behind the ring gear then turn turn a ring gear bolt. As the rag gets pulled in behind the ring gear it'll push...

    BadBowtie 98 Build Thread

The steering arm isn't pressed on. It uses cone washers that have now rusted themselves solid to the arm and studs. It takes a lot of heat, a BFH, good large cold chisel and a lot of pounding to get it off. If you are completely rebuilding the axle, then pull the carrier and inner axle seals...

    BadBowtie 98 Build Thread

You guys are confusing cross over steering and highsteer. For crossover the passenger knuckle gets machined, drilled & tapped for a steering arm that connects the draglink to the pitman arm. Involves nothing with the drivers side knuckle. High steer is moving the tie rod location up to the...

Thanks With the 78-79 Ford D60 it uses the 31.5" spring pad width so no issues with rubbing the springs. Plus the 2.5" backspacing on the rims keeps the tires away too

    1" or 1.5" body lift

1.5" body lift with the front bumper lifted up, rear at stock height, lower fan shroud cut, lots of adjustment for shifting linkage and no need to extend the filler tube. On my old 98 I had a 2" performance accessory body lift on it, a little cleaner then the full 3"

    J.R.'s Trailblazer

Nice TB. The 5.3 ones seem to be very rare around here. Heres my 05 4.2L with a 2“ rough country on 245's. Everyt time I see a cheap one for sale I'm always tempted to buy it and put the 1 ton axles and some 40's under it.
