    at a loss. replaced MAF

well i just bought a poor man pico. has to be the wiring to the MAF, I have a feel the scanner just isn't seeing it.

SO the MAF is in use even at WOT? Am I understanding this correctly?

    at a loss. replaced MAF

is the MAF ignored as well? the FUEL TRIMS go to zero

    at a loss. replaced MAF

what happens at WOT with MAF connected, is it still using sensor? or going to default tune?

    at a loss. replaced MAF

actually let me ask this, how does it know the calculations for the VE table? is it taking 02 sensor input?

    at a loss. replaced MAF

so what does that mean? I'm not familiar enough to understand if thats some sort of answer

Then why does the problem go away, if i disconnect it, but when connected bank 1 trims remain normal, yet bank 2 trims go rich instantly during the bucking? The must be doing some other calculations now since the sensor is removed. since the maf affects both banks, i don't see how only 1 bank...

South Main auto is 2 and half hours from me. IDK if i am at that point yet. I believe i had 2 issues. I believe my MAF was slowing failing (threw out of range and lean codes) and a bucking issue with bumps. after replacing the MAF, my power has significantly returned, but going over bumps still...

    at a loss. replaced MAF

So an update. I'm still screwed. But there is an update. So i replaced the delphi with a Ac delco reman. Numbers looked much better things started zeroing out for the most part. The issue. When going over bumps with the MAF plugged in, it starts bucking. Short term fuel trim on Bank 2 starts...

how would i determine this? it bolted in fine. what does the 3" refer too? rock auto confirmed the part number for me

    at a loss. replaced MAF

thats why i bought it. i will say its completely different, plastic, with a pigtail on it, well another is on the way, from ac delco reman, so hopefully i can figure out which way to go with this. it seems to love the -18FT, I just don't understand how one is at +25 the other is at -18, and...

I ordered a rebuilt AC delco. crossing my fingers here.

    at a loss. replaced MAF

I have ordered a rebuilt ac delco. I will return the delphi, I am just mind blown how it goes from +25 to -18, I would think that would rule out bad wiring. I also repulled the pins to get better contact, they didn't seem loose. The problem is I don't know the baseline for the MAF, and from my...

    at a loss. replaced MAF

I had them, but disconnecting, and or replacing it has fix this now, just don't understand why the FT are now negative? is the delphi a good unit? or does everyone go back to the ac delco unit? I don't have a known good starting point can someone give me some baselines of what i should be seeing?

    at a loss. replaced MAF

I did clean my old one, it made no difference. ft were garbage, everything was +25, I can get live readings, but I don't know what the MAF values are suppose to be compared to normal. what I don't understand is how it went from +25 to -18 i read on a amazon review of the old ac delco ones...

    at a loss. replaced MAF

No its not low pressure. disconnecting the maf. I pull a long grade hill. its over a mile long straight up. with MAF connected barely 42. disconnected and floored Full power got to 72 mph at 10k weight. I thought it was pressure too, but it NEVER skipped a beat, and i had it buried the whole...

    at a loss. replaced MAF

Both Banks have identical fuel trim readings. Motorhome sat for 5 years was given to me and would drive fine, then start bucking on hard pulls, initially was throwing lean codes, as FT were going +25. No idea on 02's originally, but i would say original. it runs absolutely flawless with the MAF...

    at a loss. replaced MAF

So I had a power performance issue with bucking, which got worse, finally threw a code for MAF out of range, and after watching Fuel trims LT+25, I pulled the sensor plug, and it restored all power and no bucking. So i buy a new Delphi AF10057 MAF, install it, and now fuel trims are averaging...
