    AC Compressor issue

Well super good news for me boys! I finally had the time today to get underneath and see what was going on. I was expecting to have to mess with the linkages. Turns out the actuator plug was just not securely clipped into place. So after about 10 seconds of fiddling around to get it snapped...

    AC Compressor issue

Good news bad news. Good news is that there are no leaks and air is ice cold. Bad news is that air will only blow out on the feet. Vents and defrost zones aren't working. Not sure where to start. I have all of the actuators hooked up. I think they are working because the air sounds change...

    AC Compressor issue

Well, fun day today. Spent about 8 hours doing this project. Some of it I was just going slow because I was still waiting for my condenser to show up(finally did around 4pm). Anyway, dash removed, reinstalled, replaced entire AC system. I'll get it charged sometime this week and hopefully...

    AC Compressor issue

Well, pulled out the condenser last Saturday. Here is a pic of the orifice tube. Not in focus, but there is metal all over it. I decided to replace the entire system. Just waiting for all of the parts to get here. Put them in ASAP.

    AC Compressor issue

Thanks. Went and had my refrigerant removed tonight. My guy looked at my hoses and said that they were showing signs of starting to leak or if they weren't leaking yet, it would probably be prudent to replace them anyway. It's a little extra money, but I think I'm going to do an entire system...

    AC Compressor issue

Can anyone tell me how much oil the system takes. compressor says it needs PAG46, but I don't know how much I need.

    AC Compressor issue

Any specific process to flushing the lines? I figure if I have everything apart it should be pretty easy, but I guess I don't feel like I should put any water through them.

    AC Compressor issue

Yeah, I think I'm accepting that. AND I do have a guy that does some side work. I just swung by and he said that it is indeed the internal components of the compressor. SO I guess I'll be replacing the compressor, accumulator, and oriface tube. Is there anything else I have to replace at the...

    AC Compressor issue

OK that is good to know. That's what I would have thought. It does cool, but just a little bit. So that leads me back to thinking it's a low refrigerant issue. I guess I'll have to swing by "my guy"s shop.

    AC Compressor issue

Did you just replace the compressor? Or did you look into the issue? A lot of shops just replace the compressor, but from what I've read, usually its the bearing/clutch/or that other little electronic part all of which are relatively inexpensive and can be replaced without opening the system.

    AC Compressor issue

OK. Sounds good guys. I'll look into replacing the clutch. If anyone else has any input or experience, please post. I'll let you know what happens when I replace the clutch. Sent from my 0PJA2 using Tapatalk

    AC Compressor issue

Replacing the clutch and/or clutch bearing is pretty easy and can be done without opening up the system. Is it not engaging because of low refrigerant though? or a bad clutch bearing?

    AC Compressor issue

Looking for some guidance. AC was ice cold and working up to about 3 weeks ago. All of the sudden the AC wouldn't cool. In actuality, it does slightly cool the air, but not a lot. At the same time, I noticed a clicking sound when the AC is on. Turns out the compressor is making a clicking...

    4 Hi Headlight Mod

16 gauge should be fine. I usually use 14 ga, but 16 or better should be just fine for lighting and relays.

HELP! on making a LED lightbar

Well, you need to do a lot of research before just throwing together a home made light bar. 1st. research LEDs. They are not the same. Different quality, and different output levels. As usual, good LEDs cost money. 2ndly One of the major issues with the LEDs is that LEDs with high output...

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

Amazon. They are about $15. I think you can find them on ebay for a dollar or two less. They have a lot of interesting switches and available in green, red, blue, white. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Green%20rear%20lights%20switch

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

I've seen some guys mount light bars in the front of their trucks, but behind the grill. I may consider doing this in the future if I can find one that will fit. Guess I need to peruse the junk yards for a fog switch since I'm not going to pay $50 for one.

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

Yes, I believe these are 3 amps. That is a sweet light bar. I would love to do that, but without a lift, my hitch is right up against my bumper. I didn't want any lights hanging lower than the lowest part of my hitch.

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

Appears that everything else functions as it should. Looks like that circuit was probably in place to prevent accidentally leaving the light on. Here is a pic of the light.

Anyone know how to remove the cargo lamp switch

Thanks Kevin. Figured this out in my other thread. I have a set of manuals, so dug them out for the wiring diagram. It appears I have found a fix. Similar to what you have done but with a little different route for a couple of reasons. Thanks for the advice on the non-heavy duty switch. I...

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

Ok, I was right. I just clipped that white wire. circuit 156 pin "A" in the cargo light lamp housing. I made a little jumper wire to ground out. Now the cargo switch turns the cargo light(as well as my added LED lights) on and off with the switch and is unaffected by whether or not the...

Rear fogs, but $&%F$! cargo lamp switch!!!! WTF?!

Yeah, I'm going to have to keep messing around. I actually tried splicing each of the 4 wires to see if any of the others would work the way I wanted. The orange is always hot and none of the others do anything that would be beneficial. It is clear that the blue/white feed is the correct...
