If you had to start looking for a new truck tommorow, what would you look for?

I am actually on the hunt for a new to me truck (it would help if I was caught up financially) I want another GMT400, I want a truck that is a little rough around the edges. I would prefer a reg cab long bed 8 lug 2500 or single wheel 3500 Prefer a 350 but would prob take a 6.5 or a 454 if the...

Utah guy new to this forum and back into a GMT400

It has an old superlift 2.5" lift on the front this drops the front diff 2.5" and it did have some tubular upper a-arms but they where crap. The actual lift is gained by cranking the t-bars. As far as I can tell the kit is discontinued BUT can be found as old stock at some retailers. The...

    My new 91 RCSB

I would agree with the rear cab mounts being worn out. My 94 is the same way but not quite as bad as yours/ My brother and I used a floor jack and a block of wood and lifted the cab a bit to line it up and the upper rubber mounts where a bit squished out. I plan on replacing mine some time...

    Probably a stupid question but....

I agree that if its sits level its cranked about as much as you want to go. A 3" body lift and some bumper trimming should clear 35's. Sounds like you have the room already. The rear willl fit 35's stock if you dont have stupid wide wheels. Here are some examples This is my current truck...

    GMT400s gone wild..! Topless..!

I like it! And lets get real here, some of you are acting like these trucks are super rare yenko camaros or something. Its not like he destroyed a rare piece of automotive history, he just modified a dime a dozen 12+ year old SUV to suit his tastes. If I had a garage to hide it in during the...

Need oppinions on fixing rust issues

I live in semi rural utah so finding a rust free door in white and good shape probably isnt a real option. Since I am doing some sort of bed liner on the rockers and there wont be a water trap I am sure it will be fine once I fix the rust I just looked it over and it all feels pretty solid I...

Need oppinions on fixing rust issues

I only took the one off the drivers door so far. Didnt try on this one because it already had a crease in it. You cant see it in the pics but the second pic is actually a dent in the door. I need to take the inner door pannel off and push the dent out. Your idea of fishing line worked great...

Need oppinions on fixing rust issues

Got it off actually wasnt hard at all as the paint mostly gave away. You can see the rust has gotten under the paint of about 75% of the area the chrome was on and even about 25% of where the factory side molding was. Luckily from what I can tell its only surface rust and nothing is rotted...

Need oppinions on fixing rust issues

So the other day I took truck through an auto car wash, you know those ones with the super nucular hair dryer at the end. Well the dryer kinda blew the chrome rocker crap off my driver door a little bit and exposed what I had already feared. RUST and destroyed paint! I have wanted to get rid...

So heres the pic of the new to me wheels and tires. I also installed a pioneer head unit its just a cheapie for now and the speakers sound like crap! I took it through an auto carwash today and it has a super hair dryer at the end. Well the blower pealed up some of the chrome rocker crap on...

Havent had time to do anything but work and sleep. I did trade my wheels and tires for some black alloy wheels with 33x12.5x15 BFG AT's. The tread is a bit better on 3 of the tires but 1 is cupped pretty bad, I put it on the rear and dont notice any bad ride from it. 1 wheel has a gnarly...

Can I get my build thread moved?

At first I liked the idea of a closed build thread so I put it in the lifted and off road section. Now I think I would rather let people reply in my thread. So can that happen? Maybe to the members trucks section?

    My new 91 RCSB

Nice lookin little truck (I might be biased) makes me want a 6" and 35's. The updated grill looks great. I wish I had a nice garage like that, other than that blue oval hanging there, looks well equipped.

    My 93' Build thread.

I have seen a simular switch to that with the arrows for a power sliding rear window? Nice start! Why did you change from the chrome smooth bumper to the chrome impact strip bumper?

    My new 91 RCSB

If your talking about the door hinge pins yes you can replace them. You will find the pin and bushing kits in the "Help!" section of the local parts store. Find a way to support the door cuz these things are heavy. I have found the easiest way to get the bushings out is to simply crush them...
