    4.3 V6 looking for power

Why? I stock LQ4/LQ9 with a mild cam/tune would run circles around it anyway, and you'd spend half as much.

    ???about shell rotell synthetic

You should be fine. Personally I use the 5qt jugs of Motorcraft 15w40 (red jugs with the POWERSTROKE DIESEL branding) in my 5.7 because it's basically free. Pretty much any diesel oil will do fine in older engines.

    92 1500 trans

Check for any binding and lubricate the linkage. It is NOT a kickdown cable and you CANNOT drive the vehicle with it disconnected. You will destroy the transmission. Testing it at a standstill is fine to check for binding, but it must be connected if you're driving the truck.

Did you miss the post where I told you specifically the transmission you bought will NOT WORK with a GenI/GenII engine?

No Fluid Pressure - No Gears Forward or Reverse- NEED HELP

The torque converter was most likely damaged from the front pump bushing being worn and causing it to have excessive runout. You're more likely to damage the internals of the converter from having it seated improperly than outright breaking the snout. I've installed more 4L60s than I can...

How to MarkVIII your OBS on a budget..!

Why not spend an extra 30 minutes and cut the shroud down to where it's basically just holding the radiator in place? You don't need it anymore and that's the main reason I went to an efan......underhood space.

No Fluid Pressure - No Gears Forward or Reverse- NEED HELP

I've seen them drive almost normally with **** you wouldn't believe going on inside, so it's possible.

    Hesitation at partial throttle

The same effects can (and are) created with a little crafty camshaft timing on newer models, so it's not really an "OMG egr is BAMF" scenario. The engines were designed with it in mind back in those days, and it works well for what it is. I've marginally increased the pulse time the EGR is...

    350/383 or LS1???

If the engine has less than 150K miles, I wouldn't touch it. Just toss it in, get in tuned and drive the hell out of it. 150K miles on an engine is nothing anymore with modern manufacturing.

    Hesitation at partial throttle

Those engines combined with the old swirl port heads really NEED the EGR system functioning to get any kind of decent economy out of them. I think I explained it pretty well how the inert gas lowers the effective displacement of the engine. Also, 23mpg+ and is hard to argue with.

No Fluid Pressure - No Gears Forward or Reverse- NEED HELP

Either could happen independently of one another. The most likely scenario is debris from the pump entered the fluid passages first. If they installed the transmission and didn't seat the TC properly, you don't owe them a dime.

help me build my 350 tbi

Not to crush your dreams, but I'm going to crush your dreams. Aim about 100hp lower than what you're shooting for and be realistic. Even with vortec heads, a cam and larger injectors you might be lucky to see 250hp at the wheels with that setup. With drivetrain losses the crank output would be...

    Hesitation at partial throttle

Uh, no. Stock small block TBI systems only run at 11-14psi. It still needs to be checked though. I've seen broken regulator springs cause that. Has the TBI unit been rebuilt as well?

    350/383 or LS1???

Honestly, an a 5.3L with a mild cam and tune or a 6L LSx with just a tune would run circles around a 383 that you spent twice as much to build. I've seen low mile 5.3L engines with complete harness go from $400 up to $1100 around here. The associated stuff to make it work isn't all the much more...

No Fluid Pressure - No Gears Forward or Reverse- NEED HELP

To answer your second question, that's impossible. Plastic retainers in the pump aren't going to grind away steel. You need to check the fluid level with it running and in park (put the ebrake on) first. If it checks out okay, look for anything obvious like a broken shift linkage on the...

Junkyards, yes. On Craigslist you can cut that in half.

No Fluid Pressure - No Gears Forward or Reverse- NEED HELP

Honestly it's impossible to tell. The only torque converters I've ever seen broken on the snout were a bad batch from PI, and one of those was behind a cammed LQ9. As a wild guess I'd say it's something more in the rear of the case, possibly the low/reverse roller or output shaft.

    4L60E MOD advice

You need to look harder, bud. Even if it's not in working order you can still have it rebuilt or salvage parts. Paying that much for a used transmission is foolish.

    4L60E MOD advice

You can buy a low mile 5.3L WITH transmission and wiring harness for $900. No way in hell would I or anyone pay that much for a transmission alone unless the first digit is a T. In proper working order 4L60Es go for less than $300 used. Hit up Craigslist. My best advice is rebuild what you...

    Should I chip?

You'd notice more of a difference with a proper exhaust system. Also, stay away from "name brand" chips. They don't do anything but waste fuel. You can search and find out who's legit in the tuning business.
