    '88 RCLB C3500 "Roscoe P. Coltrane"

Ricky Bobby says he'll have the title for me today! He went to a tag agency yesterday with all the evidence that he'd paid the truck off and the bank that held the lien closed over twenty years ago. I'll be getting a clear title in my name. I'm excited! I think I also found the parasitic draw...

    Dual exhaust question.

I'm running a 2.5" dual exhaust on my 350, and I have a pretty good sized cam in it. I wouldn't worry about a 2.25" exhaust on a 305 if you put an x-pipe on it with some decent mufflers. And that's the rub. The mufflers are going to be your restriction. If you go with mufflers that aren't a...

    L31 Extreme Budget Build

I bought a replacement condenser fan for my house last week, and it's Vevor brand. They appear to be one of the Chinese vendors (they're in Jiangsu, China) that's figuring out this "capitalism" thing pretty well and aren't pi$$ing all over their own reputation for a quick buck.

Your blend door isn't working. My daily driver Mustang is doing the same thing right now.

    700r from 89 Vandura questions

Feel free to give me feedback. I'm two parts idiot and one part sometimes kinda smart. I started the channel because a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth about 62.8 pictures.

    How much paint?

Rustoleum is incompatible with urethane. https://www.gmt400.com/threads/instant-orange-peel.60126/ The rear window was out of my one-ton and the window frame was rusted through. I had to weld in new sheetmetal, and when I was done I painted it with about $200 worth of 2k rattle cans. I'd have...

94 k1500 brake light fuse and the yellow wire going to the brake switch is getting hot. Any help is appreciated

More resistance = less current. Your current flow through the ground will never be more than when the ground is making its best connection. Is there a short that's drawing more current through the wire? Is one of the bulbs a 24v bulb?

    Steering shaft slop

I don't know off the top of my head. It's been discussed before, but I've slept since then.

    Steering shaft slop

The OP has a '90. The Jeep shaft works fine on the early GMT400s. I have one on my '89, and I can assure you there are no unsupported U-joints. The later GMT400s added a U-joint, and swapping a Jeep shaft onto them is a disaster waiting to happen.

    Custom made shop tools

Nice rack. (I'm sure there's a good joke to be made here.) Gas and diesel? The Air Force got smart early in my career and ditched all the gas equipment. Everything we had could run on JP8 or diesel. I had to maintain a few deicing trucks that had Ford 300s running the pumps. Never saw a Lima...

Breaking yard etiquette. Discussion debate personal views please

OKC Pull-A-Part has three. At least one of them should have a washer tank. I think all three had the fender, and I believe the headlights hadn't been robbed from all of them. There's another source for twenty year old car parts. Just don't let the owner catch you.

1999 L31 Engine with nearly 260k, Timing chain plus what else?

The 350 in WCJr was originally in my Suburban, and after the rebuild it would make a loud tick every few seconds. It made me nervous, so I pulled it back out and went through it again. I ended up putting a .025" hole in the oil gallery plug behind the timing chain. The tick is gone and the...

Good sandblasting cabinet for a DIYer

Sandblasting cabinets require maintenance pretty much every time you use them. They clog and jam up all the time. That said, I'm still wanting to get the HF version. I have a spare shop vac and a dust vortex collector to throw on it when I get one.

    Worst OBS mods

    GMT400 - OBS GMT800 - NBS GMT900 - NNBS GMTK2XX - NNNBS GMTT1XX - N4BS? I look at this like the "Stage" terminology for performance upgrades. It's lazy language and ignorance.

    better mpg?

Keep your foot off the fun pedal a much as possible. Pure gas is only worth a 10% premium over ethanol gas. Keep your tires aired up and your engine tuned up.

Not sure where to post this (G80, Vortec, and bench seat)

When I originally swapped my engine in my TBI truck I put in an engine with Vortec heads. I bought a squarebore Summit intake manifold with the Vortec bolt pattern, put a squarebore to spreadbore adapter on it, and then put a TBI adapter on top of the spreadbore flange. If you have an '88-92...

    Confirmed brake bleeding scan tools

Be sure and let me know what software version. From what I'm understanding the software in the Snap-On scan tools matters more than the tool. Does it bleed the ABS? If so, which ABS system? I added the GM Tech2, but I didn't specify factory GM or clones. Do we need to break that down? I also...

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

The NBS master cylinder is not a good swap. Some guys like the firmer brake feel, but a couple of guys have reported nearly having accidents because they can't get enough brake pressure. If you swap one in, don't skip leg day.
