Yeah, I've gone all over the place with this. I know the LS is a far better motor, I was just thinking if I get one from the junkyard, will the coils be good? Since they aren't cheap. What about having someone clean it up? Not sure I could do it. Then things like the oil pump? Change or not? I...

Around here,(Dallas/FTW area) they might run $500-600 but they want include any accessories or the dang harness. Thats' why I'm worried, trying to piece it all together.

Working out plans now, I know they are a dime a dozen in the junkyards. Maybe get one and have cleaned up and get some new heads. Leaning more toward the 383. Atleast this way I won't have to change motor mounts or wiring harnesses. Looking for ideas...

The problem is right now it's my DD and I was going to buy parts for the LS swap and continue to drive my truck until I have everything. It's looking like she might not want to wait on me. Besides if the 383 would last as long as my 305 I'd be happy.

I need help, I've been debating on which engine to go with. Out of the three engines a 350 Vortec, 383 or the 5.3 motor. I have a 305 that is approaching 260,000 and I'm sure it's gonna be going sooner than later. I know you can do alot with both engines but the question is which would be...

Headlight restoration before and after

I used the 3M lens Restoration Kit, got it from Pep Boys for $24(I think) I used to work there so I've seen several kits come through. It worked great, It has like 4 steps, wet sanding is one of them and at the end you put on some sealer to protect them. Mine lasted for awhile (several months...
