    Yes, definitely install an 80E with the 6.0. Installing the 6.0 moves the engine two inches forward but since the 80E is longer, it's my understanding you won't have to move the transmission mount. 6.0 + 80E + truetrac = FTMFW

    Craftsman makes some small wrenches which came in a set of tools I got. They work great for this. They're maybe ~4 inches long.

    Ticking/Rattling coming from flywheel?

    Had the same noise in a 94 C1500. Turned out the flywheel was split and was occasionally rubbing against the housing cover. Also, if it turns out you need a flywheel, I have one and will send it to ya for $20 + shipping. Never been used but has been on the shelf for a few years now.

    Rockauto is good to deal with. They only do drop shipping so everything comes from another wholesaler or directly from the manufacturer. 90% of the time they have the best prices and shipping is relatively cheap.

    I'm betting your distributor gear is knife edged. It is a VERY VERY VERY common problem with this platform. Grab a billet distributor from ignitiondk on Ebay.
