Ground cable on filler neck is torn

They are riveted to the filler neck. If it’s ancient you’d probably be able to pry it off and bolt a new one on. Get a bigger one and put electrical grease on both fastening ends.

Ahh I understand now. That is a good idea. I will do that once I get the truck back. Currently it’s secured with loc tite.

    I love plastic engine parts!

Holley sells an aluminum cover also, if that is the route you go.

Reverse Level 1996 GMC sierra INFO NEEDED

Welcome to the forum! The reverse level isn’t a bad option. It’s certainly better than maxing your keys out to obtain the same leveled look. This alone would be entirely doable. However if you want to run 285s up front you would more than likely need to crank the keys to be able do...

    1999 C3500 CC DRW Build

Buddy, you and I are in the same boat. I am having the same issue with my ‘95. We even did the same steps! Bad ABS module, replaced with combination valve from JB7 equipped ‘94 K2500. In the rear I replaced both wheel cylinders, new shoes, all new hardware, all adjusted to spec. Up front I’ve...

    Mad Customs

I’ve never seen an 8° shim. I’m sure one could easily be made or sourced locally though. Enjoying the updates!

The shaft is installed in the correct orientation. In another thread I read that the set screw should be oriented 180° opposite of that flat spot. If I have it oriented on the flat spot then the steering wheel is not straight when the gear box is clocked straight. These little details can be...

I’m willing to hear them out before I start the warranty process. They also said they won’t warranty a box with zero miles on it. I just verified my fitment of everything. With the steering wheel straight the pitman and idler are parallel to the frame. As reference I went and checked my ‘92...

At the steering wheel it is only a very small amount to get it to clunk. The tech thought it was in the column but it is not. I took the steering shaft off of the upper shaft and was able to reproduce the sound. I called their tech support and they told me to get it aligned and drive it then...

Borgeson said it was normal and that would be the case when the vehicle wasn’t running. So I sent them another video of the truck running and reached down and turned the shaft and showed them the slop in it. We will see what they have to say.

What are the odds on this build that my Borgeson box is out of spec already. 0 miles and I’ve got a lot of shaft play already. Edit: I think it initially felt a lot better and I didn’t catch this because I didn’t have any weight on the steering components.

    TBI Rebuild Services

Final update: received the TBI base back from Sean today. He put in another set of bushings, new blades, and shaft. It is night and day better. No binding whatsoever. I’m thankful that he was willing to work with me because by the time I sent it back to him I was out of the warranty period.

I appreciate that too. That truck is my favorite two tone color. Giving me some great ideas!

Yeah I’ve looked at those before. They are really cool. I’m not quite low enough yet for them.

Re: the panic stopping. I’m not sure if that would help here since the ABS has been eliminated. It probably needs bled more. Perhaps there is air trapped somewhere.

I’m a DA…what maintenance have you screwed up?

Have new battery cables with 5/8” adapters courtesy of a member. I’m used to using my 8mm wrench to take the bolts out of the battery. Yesterday when I was tightening the new hardware down with the bigger wrench I made some sparks and took the chrome finish off my wrench. Scared my dad and me...

I’ve not seen that specific one. I had the mytee vac and wasn’t impressed. I’d be willing to try out the one you mentioned though.

No setup here. It’s still not right. It does feel better when running but is still way too easy to operate. Drums can’t be adjusted out any further. I’ll load it up Tuesday night and get it to the shop.

    Any solutions

When I did this I put the control arm in with hardware loose then put the spring in. It was much easier that way.

Might have made some progress. I re-bled the MC with the help of Ashley. First I capped both ports then had her pump. Got some bubbles out. Then I installed some bleeder lines I made and had her pump some more. We got more fluid out. Truck off: noticeably firmer Truck on: also noticeably...

I put a C clamp over the metering valve and the combination valve body and kept that closed. Now when I pump the brakes I have zero fluid coming out of it - win! But overall the brakes are still incredibly spongy. I’m going to break out the wallet wrench and take the L on this one. It’s going...

Yeah. Not sure how to resolve it if the bleeding procedure is a bust. Hoping there’s just too much air in the system. I guess I’ll take a gamble on a new valve.

This morning I went out to try and clamp the metering valve in place. I first pumped the brakes and wanted to see it in action. It’s leaking fluid out of the system. I replaced the valve with one from another truck and the same thing happens. The seals looked fine on my original compared to the...

Nope. You are right. I need to do this. Thank you very much for the reminder. Going to pick up a C clamp tonight to try this out with. Will re-read that link and check out the tools again. I appreciate you looking out for me!

Today was not the day. Bench bled and replaced M/C after getting the shoes adjusted because the pedal feel was still not great. Pedal feel improved after that. 2 pumps and it was firm. Then I started the truck and they were back to being mushy. I turned the truck off and they firmed up after a...
