1998 box repair - Is it repairable?
98 box has seen better days. Can I get something to weld in here or am I better off getting a new box? Been looking for a pewter short bed box but coming up empty. Found a green box for $250 but after painting it I'll be better off painting the whole truck which is not in the budget right now.- JJZ71

Fog light switch - dash bezel install hicup
The fog switch and passenger airbag are the same size - my cargo switches are smaller. So I'm going to need two bezels, cut them and connect them together is what were saying? I'm not coming across a bezel that looks like it will work so far. Need 15694886 with openings on top/bottom and a cover...- JJZ71

I picked up an extra cargo light switch and a fog light switch from the scrap yard today and now have to find the correct bezel to put them in. I replaced my keys when I did all the ball joints last week. Now the front is looking good and the rear is a little low. Do I need to add a leaf? No block like my buddys 1999 has. What have you guys done?- JJZ71

How To: Install a Compass / Temperature Rear View Mirror
Wired up my mirror and the power + ground wire started to melt instantly when testing. I did one of these 6 years ago and had no issues, thought I wired this one the same way. Any ideas as to what went wrong? Obviously, I'm not an electrician!!- JJZ71

93 silverado 2 key to 1 key 95 up
1 key vehicles have larger tumblers. You would have to modify outer door handles and column. I dont see it being done but never say never I suppose- JJZ71

Axle length - getting rear wheels in line
What is the procedure for bringing the rear wheels out to line up with front wheels? Do I put 2" wheels spacers in the rear and TADA, its done? Is this even a good idea, will it screw up the ride or anything?- JJZ71

3" lift - what shocks do I buy?
82 people looked at my post and 1 had a partial answer for me (thanks df2x4). I'm told you should change to an extended shock when adding 3" or more. FYI- JJZ71

Guys - Im ordering a 3" lift (keys & blocks) for my 1998 K1500. I want to replace the shocks at the same time, will OEM shocks be fine to get or should I get something else because of the lift? Yes, this is a serious question LOL- JJZ71

Weld help

I'm back!!!!
After 6 years, I bought another GMT400. Picked up this 1998 last week with 200K miles. Completely stock for now but looking to do brush guard, wheels/tires (33"), 2"-3" lift, tint, stereo upgrades, etc.- JJZ71

Almost stalls...
'97 with a 350 and auto trans - wants to stall out but doesnt. Truck drives just fine down the road but if I come to a sudden stop or take off from a stop it spits and sputters before it will move. Whats the list of things to check?- JJZ71
