I had to replace a cs130 alternator last week, it had been on my truck for about 5 years. I check all the wiring first, it was good. I took it off and went to O'Reilly and bought a brand new one, put it back on, it lasted 2 days and the internal voltage regulator screwed up, it would over charge...

5.7 vortec smokes like a diesel at start

Normally if it is leaking oil through the valve guides it will blow blue smoke out of the tail pipe when you first crank it up and after it sets parked for several hours and you crank it again. You can pull the spark plugs and you will have oil build up on the side of the porcelain part of the...

I replaced all the frontend and suspension parts on a 1990 Chevy Silverado Sportside 2-wheel drive last year. I used all Moog parts, they were more expensive, everything fit real well. The parts I replaced were original to the truck. The upper ball joints had brads holding them to the upper...

The most aggravating job was cutting the original spot welds on the control arm bushings to...

    Has anyone have this happen?

When my egr valve goes bad I always get a service engine light. I would take the battery cable loose also and leave it off for 20 seconds and put it back on and reset the ECM. I have cleared problems like that. Does not cost anything. I would check the fuel pressure for sure.
