    P0785 Shift Solenoid

As a matter of fact, I just drove it home from the mechanic's place two days ago. I had a couple of bad ground wires that were causing some voltage issues. (originally thought it was an alternator problem) Fixed those and found a burnt connector on the 3-2 control solenoid. Replaced solenoid...

Good to see they keep a sun shade up to protect that dash!

    Truck going into "Limp mode"

Is this for my scenario or for the snow plow problem?

    Truck going into "Limp mode"

P0785 Shift Solenoid I replaced those- didn't fix it. Went back in a second time and replaced all the electronics and wire harness in the pan, replaced throttle position sensor- didn't fix it. It will run perfectly when I first crank up, for a couple of miles to the first corner I make and when...

    98 K1500 hard shift 1 to 2 when hot

Did you ever get this fixed?

    Truck going into "Limp mode"

Did you get any codes when yours went in to limp mode? I think I'm having a low voltage problem also, but every time it starts limping, I get a shift solenoid code. Is that code thrown automatically because the lack of voltage is making the solenoids act up?

    Replacing wire harness

Never mind- I figured it out. You have to remove the accumulator- I think that's what it's called. But it didn't fix anything. I replaced all the electronics and the harness. Same problem! Drives perfect until I stop and the next leg of the trip, it goes to limp mode. ???? Can it be a low...

    Replacing wire harness

I have a 98 4L60E. Is it possible to remove the wire harness on the valve body without removing the valve body? I want to replace all my electronics but don't really want to fart with removing the body. It looks like the accumulator is too close to the EPC solenoid to remove that solenoid and...

    Daily truck pics

Don't do like me and set them too low. When you put the cowl back on, it will hit the ribs on it and you'll have to remove it and do it all over again. Might want to set the cowl back in place when you adjust them to be sure they are still in the slot.

Boy I feel like an idiot. That's what was said a few post earlier! I guess I was thinking you were saying to adjust the bases of the arm pivots somehow...:025: But at least we have some pictures now.

I figured it out! Take off the cowl and look behind the wiper motor. There is a little double ball joint where the rods connect to the motor- one for the left and one for the right. The "clamp" that holds the rod to the ball of the motor shaft has two nuts on a slotted hole. Loosen the nuts...

If I figure it out, I'll post it! Looking at all these pictures of trucks with the arms laying nice and level is getting to me!

    Daily truck pics

Anybody ever have to adjust the wiper arms so that they stop closer to the bottom of the windshield when turned off? Mine seem like they're a notch too high. The driver's side even goes all the way to the seal on the glass at the top of the stroke. Is there a way to adjust that?

I replaced both A and B solenoids on the front side. Diagram would be great. Thanks!

Did you put the blocks between the seat and the riser?

    P0785 Shift Solenoid

And to clarify my original post above, the slow take off is like I'm in too tall a gear, like 2nd or 3rd. It's not "slipping". And I don't think it ever shifted once I got rolling. Is that "limp home"? If so, that's more likely an electrical issue, right?

    P0785 Shift Solenoid

One thing I noticed: (Sorry, this is the best way I know to describe this) In each hole where the solenoids go, there is a black (feels like plastic) little "piston"- I assume that is the valve? The one toward the passenger side moved freely in the hole. I could push it with my finger and fluid...

    P0785 Shift Solenoid

I didn't. I'm not too handy with a meter... o_O I do know how to ohm the sensor when it's exposed, though. ??

    Dad's '98 Resto

My dad bought his first ever "new vehicle off the lot" when he was 54 years old. A 98 1500 Silverado Ext. Cab. When 2007 rolled around, he only had 61,000 miles on it and he decided to buy an 07 model. He drove the new one home, drove the 98 to my house and handed me the keys and the title! Mine...

    P0785 Shift Solenoid

My 98 1500 started shifting really hard into second on real hot days. Then got to where it shifted hard after a few miles, even if it wasn't hot out. The last couple of times I drove it, it was real hard to get going from a stop- like I was pulling too heavy a load or spinning on ice or...

    Raise your seats?

I have the 60/40 seat with the fold down armrest/console. I do not have power seats. My seat cushions are not worn out because it sits just like it did when they were new. Driver side feels just like the passenger side and the passenger side never gets sat on. BUT, the seats feel really low...
