Thanks. Its literrally just a bracket I found in the back of suburban that was used for the spare tire. Flattened the ends out, drilled 2 holes, drilled 2 holes in the bed rail and bolted it that then used a bolt and washer to secure the tire to it
Spare tire relocated to the bed. Used a bracket I found in a suburban. Flattened the edges out and drilled holes through it and the bed rail. Bolted to the bedrail, and a bolt through the lug hole of the wheel to the bracket. Will eventually put a strap around it to completely secure it.
Got the diesel front bumper put on
Rear lift blocks installed. 1/2 inch higher in the rear now, looks and rides much better.
And chopped the muffler off
The motor in mine truck has 282 thousand miles and its worn slam out, the tbi unit is nasty as hell and needs rebuilt, intake gaskets are gone. Has a very small knock when it starts up the morning cold. Its down on power alot. But I got a 5.3 sitting in the garage so thatll cure those issues.
Im almost over 3,000 feet in elavtion and I was climbing up mountain passes getting over 4-5 thousand feet. If I was on flat highway and lower elevation I would have been fine
Pulled a uhaul car trailer with a 91 skyline from seattle to great falls, little over 700 miles, with my 95 k1500. 3rd gear, 70 mph, 8-9 mpg. Truck did great with 4l60e and 3.73s. Stock size 265/75 16 tires. Going up the passes I had to drop to 2nd and hold it to the floor to keep it at 30-40 at...
Basically a chevy 350ss. Same wheels, bilstein shocks, 2 inch rear lowering shackles, 350 tbi and 4l60e. 3.73 gears with posi. Top of the line interior trim, bucket seats and center console and power everything. Ill try to find a picture of it.
Its my third one 89, 94, and 95 and all 3 have been blue. All three have a had the light quaser blue metallic on them. 89 was completely blue, 94 was a sierra gt that went from the blue down to a silver fade and now the 95 2 tone. I might like blue just a little bit haha
Thanks. Im not a huge fan of the 2 tone, but I love blue haha. Im going to be fixing my front end by swapping in a dana 44 haha. Everything needs rebuilt upfront and I dont feel like wasting money a crappy ifs front. Im in great falls, where are you at?
Interior isnt very clean, just from age. Missing a couple pieces in the back, door panel fabric is stained from slinging mud inside the truck and carpet is permenantly stained haha. Ill post up pictures later though
Haha yea, it gets used and beat up like a truck should be. 282,000 miles and still going strong.
I was stationed in Japan for 2 years so I bought it and brought it back with me. Military pays for one pov shipment so I might as well use it to bring something back.
Thats the plan. Its starting to...
