How to spruce up these old rims

My wife's old beater Grand Cherokee had wheels that looked like that . I sanded them with 220 then 400 painted them silver and clear coated them. They look great and clean up with soap and water. That was 4 years ago at least they still look fresh. I did prime them with epoxy primer.

    Dumb door hinge idea

If you lubricate the bushings on occasion and replace them as soon as they start to sag you they will serve you forever. m Mine has 203,000 miles and the doors work as new. I got the truck 11 years ago and have changed the bushings twice for a grand total of less than $20.00. If you let the...

I am going on 72 and do work on the ground as I find it easier to deal with clumsy objects on a floor jack. I did my fuel tank on the ground no problem and I am in the rusty belt. My brother lives two miles away and does have a lift in his garage but I don't like working out of a fisherman's...

    Alignment Issues

Caster is the amount the spindle is tilted back on top as opposed to the lower that is fixed. Lack of caster will make it wander and will hinder the wheel from returning when going around turns. Either way you will need to remove the handle to change the spring if you can find one suitable. Just drill the head off the rivet and punch it out.
