Need help with overheating 454 Firetruck

Check it has the spring inside the bottom hose......... Had a guy here years ago with a 454 RV complaining of overheating. Fitted the missing spring and the problem went away. The water pump sucks the hose flat with revs. Hope this helps!

    ULTIMATE TBI mods stage 1

Just did the tbi mod a couple of days ago. Found a gas leak which has now gone away. The truck is a 4.3 stick shift, and I straightaway noticed it runs sweeter, with a better and smoother pick up, and generally seems more willing. Now I know I don't have a Saturn 5 motor, but economy...

    Favorite OBD2 Scan Tool? Recommendations?

XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31

Well, I just attempted to fit an XJ shaft to my '92 C1500. I got the old one out (with it's sloppy rag joint), only to discover that here in UK it seems that Jeep Cherokees with right hand drive use a different column, with a much smaller top shaft, which is way too small for my C1500...

Torque Converter engages disengages constantly on the freeway

Sounds like the problem I had with my 2001 2500HD with 6.0 and 4L80. In my case I cured it with a crank relearn, as the codes were showing random multiple misfires, causing the TCC to engage/disengage. May well not be the case with your set up, but it may just help. Good luck! Paul.

Does Anyone Have Polyurethane Body Mounts?

Hey guys, I fitted Energy to my standard cab stepside 2wd a few months ago. The biggest change for me was the huge reduction in cab shudder. Mind you, the original rubber mounts were really shot..... Installation was easy, I was lucky in all the bolts came out without drama! Probably more...

    Random missfire ?

This may not apply to your Vortec, but here goes: My 6.0 2001 had a random multiple misfires code, time after time, and after lots of head scratching and plenty of parts, I did a crank relearn with a Tech 2, and it all sorted out. And allowed the TCC to operate too. Tech 2's are on fleabay...
